I have seen this list on some web page:
    MicRooCerAut_2010-06-23.crl
    MicRooCerAut2011_2011_03_22.crt
    Microsoft_ECC_Product_Root_Certificate_Authority_2018.crl
    Microsoft_ECC_Product_Root_Certificate_Authority_2018.crt
    Microsoft_ECC_Root_Certificate_Authority_2017.crl
    Microsoft_ECC_Root_Certificate_Authority_2017.crt
    Microsoft_ECC_TS_Root_Certificate_Authority_2018.crl
    Microsoft_ECC_TS_Root_Certificate_Authority_2018.crt
    Microsoft_EV_ECC_Root_Certificate_Authority_2017.crl
    Microsoft_EV_ECC_Root_Certificate_Authority_2017.crt
    Microsoft_EV_RSA_Root_Certificate_Authority_2017.crl
    Microsoft_EV_RSA_Root_Certificate_Authority_2017.crt
    Microsoft_RSA_Root_Certificate_Authority_2017.crl
    Microsoft_RSA_Root_Certificate_Authority_2017.crt
    Microsoft_Time_Stamp_Root_Certificate_Authority_2014.crl
    Microsoft_Time_Stamp_Root_Certificate_Authority_2014.crt

putting, at least some, these name is any search engine returns a link to microsoft page where I can download searched file.
but is this really needed? do I have to update microsoft root certificates by my own?
windows update is not downloading them automagically in the background, please?
is this list exhaustive or is something missing?

I's appreciate if somebody knowledgeable would bother to enlighten me on this.

Hello, could you tell me what tool I need to install these updates? I have Windows Embedded Standard 7, Use the patches, Win7_WU_ESU_Patcher...and....BypassESU-v12, and with both, it gives me an error.

Windows Defender's update feature is broken once again, it already happened during Summer 2023 but they ended up fixing it back then.
I also noticed the same problem in W8.1. Trying to update using the WD GUI fails as well. Only manual update of the definitions works.
So this time the root of the problem is different due to requiring newer/more secure Ciphers to be able to fetch the updates ?
Can't really blame Microsoft for requiring more secure Ciphers for certain connections to their servers but this may unintentionally leave pre-W10 WD users in the dust...

They could have easily backported those ciphers since 2016, it's marketing not security
