What updates are showing for you guys? I already checked Microsoft's download center and the only updates I found were these: - Windows Code: Windows6.1-KB2479943-x64.msu Windows6.1-KB2479943-x86.msu Windows6.1-KB2505438-x64.msu Windows6.1-KB2505438-x86.msu Windows6.1-KB2483614-x64.msu Windows6.1-KB2483614-x86.msu windows-kb890830-v3.17.exe windows-kb890830-x64-v3.17.exe - Office 2010 Code: Office2010-kb982726-fullfile-x64-glb Office2010-kb982726-fullfile-x86-glb Are there more showing up in Windows Update? As I don't have SP1 installed in this computer yet (I will make a clean install of SP1+Pots-SP1 updates integrated on all my computers this week) only the SP1 is showing.
@burfadel ye i know that some updaes are packed bit differently... also i get them from WU catalog lots of times where they are in cab form anyway... anyway ill update tomorrow bit drunk/stoned today after this great barcelona win over arsenal
I realised that was probably the case but thought I'd mention it if people look at extracting it themselves. It is by far the smallest Office 2010 update, the .msp file is only 11.5kb!
The only update for Office 2010 that should show on Windowsupdate if you've installed all of SoLoR's Office 2010 updates thus far, is the Outlook filter. The update I mentioned above was released a few days ago on the Microsoft download site, and is considered a hotfix (although one would presume being on the Microsoft download site it would progress to Windowsupdate).
burfadel Once again, thank you for your useful information. Office2010-kb2289078-fullfile-x64-glb.exe --> msconv97.msp Office2010-kb2289161-fullfile-x64-glb.exe --> mso.msp Office2010-kb2413186-fullfile-x64-glb.exe --> gkexcel-x-none.msp, gkpowerpoint-x-none.msp, gkword-x-none.msp office-kb2202188-fullfile-x64-glb.exe --> clview.msp Word2010-kb2345000-fullfile-x64-glb.exe --> word.msp For the aforementioned Office 2010 hotfixes available in Microsoft Download Center, have they been superseeded by the list of Office 2010 hotfixes by SoLoR? If that is so, upon fresh installation of Office 2010, I do not have to place the aforementioned msp files inside Updates folder?
That is correct, the files in the repository (its the .msp files that counts, not the kb article exe's in the case of Office updates) are the newest available.
Actually the files in QFEGDR.CAB and GDRGDR.CAB, which is located inside NDP40-KB2468871.msp are different! Some are obviously different due to different file sizes between the two .CAB's, such as: et al. and others like: et al. may have the same file sizes in GDRGDR.cab and QFEGDR.cab , but if you compare the files they are actually different. Thus, there is a QFE (LDR) and GDR branch with this update
