    It would seem only "Ultimate" subscribers get that one. o_O

    Those are more for the developer community using Visual Studio and, if my take on it is correct, enhance those files specifically used to develop in that compiler; are side-by-side and don't stick with any modification to the original installation; n'est pa'? :)

    ...for some reason MU still asks for mso.msp; and for it to be reinstalled if Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable is installed after the update. No doubt false, but, agravating. :)

    Are you sure the version of mso-x-none.msp you have is 14.0.5136.5000? The hotfixes are called name-x-none.msp and the WU ones are name.msp. They are interchangeable, meaning if mso-x-none.msp is newer than mso.msp, or vice versa, they replace each other.

    If your file is that version and installed, maybe update (check tool) Windows6.1-KB947821-v10-x64.msu could help. It claims it corrects incosistencies in the Windows Update store, so you'd think it may actually be useful in some cases! ... :)

    No, mso-x-none coming from SoLor's 2010 pack is 8.978 kb-5136, mso is from MU-a coupla' months ago now if memory serves, is 8.963 kb at 5128.
    Revision numbers differ also:
    mso={F134C2C6-30B3-4169-A325-58482B4CE6FC}
    mso-x-none={407D30D6-5A01-46FB-ABD4-ACA177B7DF5C}

    It won't be for a while (I just spent nearly 2 weeks of playing with sysprep, installing/reinstalling etc.), but, the next time I do a fresh install I'll try the KB947821 thing and see if it works. I just hide these snafu's on MU.
    By the by; the sysprep thing worked out perfectly-beyond anything I had hoped for. 'Tendo's video rekindled my interest. :)

    Out of curiosity, what exactly does the suffix ...-x-none stand for anywho?

    I believe the -x-none suffix means the file is language neutral, so the same update applies to every language.

    LOL, trust M$ to make it complicated. :). You have to wander why they bother with that suffix when if a file is local specific they ensure the country abbreviation is always incuded-ten million variations of the same file-make work project. :)

    You can run KB947821 at any time, any it can be run more than once if you believe there's a problem.

    You could try deleting datastore.edb from
    C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore

    You may have to run services.msc and stop the Windows update service

    and the files from here:
    C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

    Then run windows update again

    Worst case scenario, you can hide the update by right clicking on it :)

    I never leave anything in SoftwareDistribution\Download, always install Windows updates from the extracted cabs only using DISM. I'll try the DataStore thing first. For now though I've been just hiding these snafu's. Thanks mawn. :)

    I have a question about the recent .NET framework 4 update(s). I made a silent installer out of .net 4 a while back, but I'd like to add in the new updates to it and make it an aio installer. Which files are needed (the .msp ones inside the .exe I guess) to get there for an up to date Client? This .NET stuff always confuses me for some reason, but I'd like to know which files will bring the .net4 up to date. Thanks :)

    Thanks for the reply.

    In the end I was able to install both the Net4 installer AND the msp's in one go. I put them all one folder and let a cmd install them silently.

    I found out that the order of the msp files is what determines if the install breaks or not. When I place aNDP40-KB971891.msp, aNDP40-KB2315412.msp , and aNDP40-KB2160841.msp first in the list (I put an "a" in front of each one so they would install first alphabetically), they all installed, right after the install of the NET4 .exe. And it did update my net4 installation to version 30320 this way. The only 'drawback' was that each msp would show up in the list of installed programs, whereas with it integrated I don't think that is the case. Just thought I'd let people know it can be done when done in a certain order, but it is more cumbersome and probably takes longer to install this way. Did anyone upload their up to date net4 installer anywhere by any chance? Thanks...
