I think that on a fresh install of Windows 7 SP1 with Internet Explorer 9 integrated, we have no need to install KB2475792 and KB2482017, just as SoLoR stated in his repository.
With the standalone IE9 installer, why does it download the IE9 MSU? It seems kinda pointless downloading something you already have (the .msu contains the same .cab as already included).
It only downloaded the single executable for me; I had to run the /x:<path> switch to extract the cab; no msu file. Wierd!
I hear ya' on that one. I always install just from the cabs using DISM through Win7Toolkit, so, perhaps that is why I did not experience what you did.
I was just wandering, what ever happened to the quarterly DirectX redistributable updates?; has M$ stopped updating DirectX-leaving it to the developers to bundle what is required from the SDK's?
There has to be changes and additions to Directx for Microsoft to release an update for it Its possible they're working on a new system, since the current one is a little ridiculous! One possibility is instead of adding new files each month, the additions and changes would just be added to replacement files, with backwards compatibility options. It would make for a smaller redist, and the ability (as rumoured in the past) to fully integrate it into Windows update.
If SP1 is not slipstreamed by M$, or if you install SP1 in sysprep etc., then all the setup files will stay at SP0 If you want the update-yep
Why? I don't understand currently the file is 6.1.7601.17514 and the file update is 6.1.7600.20882 thanks
