Should uninstall the old update after, it will uninstall very quickly then. If you do it before, it replaces the files you uninstalled with the original files, if you do it after it simply removes the superseded files.

No bapt you misread, he said its better to uninstall it "after" this way you wont have to restart or anything because the files wont be "in use"

yes I understood, but that uninstalls old KB before or after, does not affect the new update, if I understood

if you use daz activator and u downloading the good version,
no worries at all. you can download so many updates as you want.
I think the genuine thing, is behind ons now, it isn't tricky as in xp......
so give it a shot and give us the feed backs :)

I think the answer you need is more what you have to do to make all this work. I too, had to read most of this thread to figure it out, so I really hope i'm right! lol

1.) Download all of the KB files from SoLoR's site (he also provides monthly round-up packages with all the KB's together, for easy download), and put them in their own directory.

2.) Download burfadel's Installer for Windows Updates script v20a and extract the script to the same directory that the KB files are located.

3.) Run burfadel's Installer For Windows Updates V20a.cmd script, and follow burfadels menu. (Make sure you have full admin rights first!)

4.) The process takes a while to complete, and requires a restart at the end, after this, you're done!

Remember that these KB files are not the same as on Windows Update, the files that SoLoR offers are normally private, or hard to find KB's, the kind of thing MS sneaks in to a Service Pack!

I thank all they guy's here for all their hard work, and I hope I have this guide right! Feel free to correct me, as I'm not sure if it is correct to add all of these KB's to a single directory and use with burfadel's script.

    Wow, nice work SoLoR!

I'm late to the party, but I can see how much goes in to this, so thank you for your hard work, and keeping this going. :)

Solved, i had twice the problem saving the new updates!
the problem was caused by eset nod32 antivirus, which cound't verify solor updates and
gived me an error of failed!
Solution: disabled realtime protection and redownloaded :)

    to solor:
why is the update date still 17 april 2011?
