Only AMD APU does not work with win7 (famous ACPI not compliant error message). AMD CPUs without iGPU will work fine! No need to use virtual machine.
Amazing tool. I used it to integrate the drivers and updates on the iso and the procedure completed with success on my machine. But i noticed that it took very very very long time before i could see the desktop. Is this normal ?
I see, i installed it on a machine without ssd and if i remember well it took more than one hour before the desktop shows. (1 hour and 13 minutes exactly). That is huge. How long will it take from the moment where the setupcomplete.cmd file is running until the desktop shows if you install it on machine with ssd ?
It also depends how fast is your CPU. Normally on modern CPU with high clock it should take 10-15 minutes max.
I see. I have another laptop machine with ssd (cpu - i5 5200U), will install the iso on it to see the time that it takes using ssd. The cpu is broadwell architecture.
Max turbo for single core is only 2,7GHz (2,2GHz for all cores) so it is still rather low. 4GHz+ is a high clock in my book.
Ok so it took exactly 26 min with my config (i5-5200U + ssd) which is quite long. It's the timing from setpcomplete.cmd running process until desktop shows.
So everything looks normal. With 4GHz cpu you could easily finish in 10-15 minutes like I said before.
Amazing tool, this is the only one that "almost installed Win 7" on my PC on UEFI. I have an Acer Aspire A515-51G-51V7. Can't change the CSM on BIOS, only Legacy and UEFI. After the first setup, when the PC reboots, I get the error: Windows Boot Manager Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. File: EFI\BOOT\BCD Status: 0xc000000d Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data How should I fix this? It's the same error I always got when tried to run a normal W7 ISO on UEFI, I couldn't even reach the first setup, however with this tool I can, and actually it installs the OS. I just can't boot it because of the error. @Atak_Snajpera do you know something about it?
Correct. No CSM = Generation 3 UEFI or newer. As the legacy graphic support shim for Windows 7 is missing (Windows 7 doesn't support GOP), only switching to complete legacy emulation might* be able to support Windows 7. *USB3 and NVME are not natively supported by Win7, need to integrate them into the install source first.
so anyone with a ryzen 1700x and a crossair hero vi that was able to use this cause i cant use another ways to get my kb and mouse to work after trying to install win 7. This will help me regarding this? im downloading everyhting and will try!
that's exactly what i am looking for as i have myself kaby lake cpu and your tool seems to allow win7 to be installed on kabylake machines so i'm going immediately to test this tool to see if ti will work.
Hi All, Greets, Sir, Many thanks for Win 7 Image Updater, Its just great! Though i did not use it on my own but there are always good echos! (a) One of my friends used this utility & had all the drivers except driver for ''Kabylake ( Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400 CPU )'' for ''Win 7 Ultimate x86'' for ''Intel HD Graphics 630'' (b) Hardware ID : PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5912&SUBSYS_108E1025&REV_04 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5912&SUBSYS_108E1025 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5912&CC_030000 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5912&CC_0300 (c) Unfortunately, i am on a distance from him & right now not able to download your app due to my own internet problems. Any suggestions or clues ? Thanks & Regards. ...
