You literally quoted me saying I'm done arguing. @GSC-Crew Again, you have no viable option of installing windows 7 on you computer WHILE YOU'RE USING AN AM4 APU! You either get yourself a Ryzen CPU(no integrated graphics), or you learn how to debloat windows 10 and use it instead of 7.
Worked with the tool for a while and conclude it's Win10 setup/boot and the tool makes install.esd, just named install.wim OK, I only have one question now: Why are the following drivers not integrated into the Win7 Driverstore by the tool: Realtek_Audio\Setup.exe /s \Intel_GPU\Setup.exe -s NVidia_GPU\Setup.exe -s -clean -noreboot -noeula ? Can they not be integrated into the DriverStore? They sit in \Setup\Scripts and get called via SetupComplete.cmd. It's causing me issues as I have other tweaks running via custom autounattend.xml, so I'd like to know. Thanks
Those are not drivers. You're talking about the executables of the installers for the respective drivers. They are mostly not needed, you can install them afterwards. The basic idea in all these modifications is to have the required storage drivers(SATA/USB/NVMe) integrated inside your boot.wim and install.wim so windows 7 knows what hardware you're installing/running it on. Stuff like audio/gpu/lan/etc. drivers are a secondary concern as they can be installed later, provided you have a working machine with functioning peripherals and storage drivers. Bare in mind that if it's an intel platform, you might need to find yourself a proper iGPU driver and have it on-hand and install it after OS install is complete.
For example Realtek audio driver was not integrated because there are over 100 .inf files! Each .inf file will be treated by Dism as separated driver! In theory you could literally end up with 100GiB image before compression
Thanks Atak, that makes sense. One thing I thought about that you could do is create SFXs for the Realtek installer that are architecture-specific. So make one for 64-bit OS only (take out Win32 folder; I tested, it works) which saved 500mb or else at least 80/100mb when compressed. For example I have a 64-bit only Realtek SFX (silent) made that is only 147mb for x64 only, that way you don't have to include the 32-bit files in the 64-bit install.wims. So something like this for SFX so you can use the .7z compression on it but still call (without switches) from SetupComplete.cmd: Code: ;!@Install@!UTF-8! RunProgram="Setup.exe -s" GUIMode="2" ;!@InstallEnd@! And then do same for x86 OS also, take out Win64 folder, etc. Just a suggestion With the Intel GPU drivers I was concerned that maybe on some systems not having those drivers it would black-screen or something, but I'm thinking the standard VGA drivers inside Win7 driverstore would at least give people on those systems some low resolution graphics to work with until they can install their graphics drivers. So if that's the case I'll go ahead and leave those Intel GPU and Realtek and NVidia drivers out or else include them on the USB stick but outside the iso/install.wim. And thanks shhnedo, for the info!
Amd Ryzen 3 2200G is an APU, right??? It has integrated graphics. Doesn't matter if you use it or not.
How about googling it??? If it is AMD Ryzen but has integrated graphics, it is an APU. The creator of this tool literally told you: He was telling you your CPU is an APU.
I have tried many methods to get windows 7 to work, then I test this program then the USB work and I did not get error that CD / DVD drivers was missing, that I got other times with testing install w7. Next problem is that Mice dont work on any USB port but keyboard does when windows have finnish installation. In Device manager there are 3 components PCI Device, 2x USB HOST Controller that have exclamation mark. Motherbord that was using : ASUS ROG STRIX B360-H GAMING CPU : Intel i7 9700k Have have installed chipset driver but no diffrent. Dont find any USB driver to this motherbord =( any suggestions ? Is it possible to take USB drivers frome boot installations ?
If one would be looking to be buy some new hardware at this time, but would want to run Windows 7 on it using this tool, what hardware would any of you recommend? Or what hardware should we avoid? (AMD APU obviously, but other than that.) What about the latest Intel performance CPU's, are they OK to use still? Or should AMD be considered over Intel?
AMD Ryzen (NO APU). Latest Intel (9900k) are also good as long as you are willing to buy external USB controller. See my first post.
The only usb2 cards i am seeing are pci cards, not pci-e, if you have a pci slot you may be ok. Dynamode 5 Port PCI USB2.0 Card NEC Chipset, Belkin should be ok.
