@Arctucas : Hi, 1. Make two new folders on additional USB disk / Pen drive with other names & assign them for 'Temporary Directory' & 'Scratch Directory'. You can always change them from NTLite > File > Settings. ( Its not compulsory to give them name Temp & NLTmpScratch ! ) 2. At least you should be able to load the extracted untouched M$ Win 7 ISO. Did you extract the two ISOs with 7 Zip or other archivers ? Make two new folders with other names & extract Win 7 Customized ISO & Untouched ISO to them. 3. After doing 1 & 2, start afresh with NTLite. Warning : While naming those folders take care that only alphabets are used in their name & no special characters or space in between! ( I think the additional drive has Windows To Go files / Installation which is / are conflicting. So, I suggested changing names. No names would be obstructive, provided the warning is taken care of! If it still does not work, copy your Important files from the drive to a safe place. Then Format, Partition & Repeat afresh ) Let me know. Thanks & Regards. ...
@Arctucas : If you follow above & still problems, then use your internal disk ( RAID0 Array ) for Temporary Directory, Scratch Directory & ISOs extractions. May be the speed required for the functions is not enough on / for an USB disk or Pen drive!
OK, I used my USB-connected external nvme drive and got the untouched .iso to load, but the modded .iso (created per the the instructions set forth in this thread by the OP, and what I used to install my current W7 OS), will not load, no matter what. Currently, I am doing some stress testing on the processor after de-lid/re-lid. I will get back to the RAID issue later. Thanks
1. It's possible that an ISO, customized by various tools & methods, does not load in NTLite. But an untouched Windows ISO ( Win 7 & Above ) will always load if it is all well. 2. If you had shared the missing drivers / devices names & exported hardware list under RAID0 Array configuration, I would have been able to make an ISO. It would have helped others at least! Thanks & Regards. ...

Hi everyone i am trying to install windows 7 prof on my new mini PC, with an intel gemini lake processor with this excellent ISO i succeeded in installing it on 2 other mini PC's but for some reason this install always stops at the windows logo screen so i can install windows 7, but when it restarts it shows the windows logo and then freezes what am i doing wrong? thanks for help Jimmy
Check your UEFI firmware. Looks like it is a "Generation 3" UEFI, without special support* for Windows 7. Try to find something named CSM (Compatibility Support Module) and enable it. Make sure Secure Boot is off (Windows 7 doesn't support it). If the primary hard disk (the one for booting) is 2TB or smaller, you can also enable legacy BIOS emulation mode (booting with MBR, not GPT). *Windows 7 does not have complete UEFI support, it lacks GOP (for graphics support during boot). The firmware must emulate legacy INT10 BIOS graphics, and if it doesn't, boot will freeze at the logo.
Nothing to do with USB at all. If the UEFI firmware is Class/Gen3 and does not have any CSM, booting Windows 7 is not possible. Windows 7 requires INT10 BIOS graphics emulation. The USB3 issues can be solved, the GOP issue most certainly not.
Thanks for all your help !! forgive me if my english is poor. my native language is Dutch Indeed it looks like CSM is nowhere to be found my BIOS is an American Megatrends, Intel Aptio Setup utility secure boot is disabled from the factory, and greyed out, impossible to enable if you would want to fastboot is enabled COULD WINDOWS 8.1 WORK ?? it is a cheap mini PC i purchased specially for experiments Everything is better than WIN 10 these upgrades tn new builds are a nightmare on a few occasions they killed programs i need for work they work fine, and the day after a new build, they stop working i am tired of fighting WIN 10 every 6 months
on my old work PC i had WIN XP for 12 years never had ONE crash never had PC virus never had a hack in my system it was stable and always worked every single one of my programs worked without a hiccup WIN 10 is an huge step backward a methode to make your customers spend money on new software... on new hardware, etc on WIN 10 i had many crashes, BSOD etc software stops working after an update, etc makes you want to throw PC out of window PLUS it is a lot slower IF YOU COULD MAKE WIN 7 WORK ON NEW HARDWARE, IT WOULD FLY it have win 7 on one PC with i7 7500U and it flys starts up in like 10 sec Jimmy
There is crazy solution. Install Linux Create virtual machine Install Win7 on virtual machine It may sound crazy but if you have Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX then this also solves performance issues with native windows scheduler! This trick also fools windows that 2990WX is working in UMA mode instead of 4 NUMA nodes.
Yes, i thougt of that but my mini PC is not powerful enough for virtualbox and running 2 OS simultanously maybe WIN 8?? somehow??
But you won't be running anything on linux. I'm sure you can prepare some stripped down linux just for hosting virtual machine. I'm also sure you can fully automate booting to win7 on virtual machine.
The restrictions we discussed are ONLY for Windows 7. Windows 8.x fully supports UEFI, GOP, USB3 and Secure Boot. Secure Boot might have to be enabled by loading the default keys (it must be an option in the UEFI, like "Load default keys" or "Load system keys").
@Atak_Snajpera Is this any use for your image updater? coffee lake igpu driver for win7 https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...hs-where-to-go-next.80147/page-2#post-1543359
im experiencing something strange, with this tool my mouse and keyboard both work perfectly for setup but soon as it gets to the windows 7 setup screen where you enter your name and password they stop working, any ideas? i do have a z390 motherboard with a 9900k, maybe there is a way to make windows use whatever driver the setup uses?
