I was able to get to the screen with language selector and after that to the hard disk format options. could this mean it could work? i have everything hidden in bios thanks to asus, and custom bios would be the dream but it seems that asus has used powerful ways to lock down this bios.
Without CSM support it won't boot at the first or second reboot: I would advise to get used to it, intel is killing CSM soon.
Mby if take image with acronis / REDO backup & recovery and everyday just pump up the image to the machine ? ;DDD
sure Mr "admin" I won't post anymore about things that are related to this thread. sorry for everything. Maybe stop trying to know everything and let us "peasants" clutter the thread so we can think together and maybe find a way to do it with little extra effort. edit: 2020 ~ YES it is possible to install windows 7 "pure uefi" no CSM option @ bios. j

@Atak_Snajpera It can occur when monthly is not integrated at last step. There is also IE that seems to be superseded/triggered by monthly update. I always integrate IE first while integrating monthly at the end. edit: Why do you integrate KB3125574 aka Convenience Update Rollup? - The predecessor of Monthly Updates This Update has too much issues and IMO shouldn't be integrated at all.
So I've been reading this thread, and from what I can tell the key feature I need to make this work is.... the ability to enable CSM mode in my bios. However none of the motherboard manufacturer's websites like asus/asrock/msi/gigabyte seem to advertise this obscure setting as a feature, so how do I know which z390 intel motherboard will work? It looks like msi likes to include a single ps/2 connector which would be really nice for avoiding the usb driver problem during installation, but if I don't have to be committed to msi, well, with black friday coming up, I plan to buy/build the system this/next week. I haven't already purchased any of the parts though, so... if I knew which motherboard supported CSM mode that'd save me a ton of trouble. From this thread it sounds like asus is the least likely to work, but what about asrock, which iirc is an asus spin off group? or gigabyte (a lot of good sales already appearing on gigabyte z390 motherboards, but I wonder, none of these motherboards have a ps/2 connector hole so I'd need to buy that 3rd party usb controller, but I'd be willing to do that if I knew for a fact said gigabyte motherboard had CSM mode as an option in the bios)....
Hi All, Greets, Windows 7 UEFI & CSM Understanding ? Have a look HERE as well. Sorry, Its already there ABOVE! Thanks & Regards. ...
Thank you Atak_Snajpera! I finally was able to install windows 7 ultimate to a Asus GL703GM (uefi class 3 device, hm370 chipset) and everything works like they should (except the VGA.sys had to be disabled because of the CSM support missing in my motherboard.) have a nice 2020 mr snajpera!
well I now have windows 7 and working without CSM support. can you accept that you were WRONG and say you will behave better next time when some people actually tries to solve the problems ? hehe, feels good man.
Can I use the ISO on other computers that wont have Ryzen Or SkyLake\KabyLake\CoffeLake? Trying the ISO on VM stucks on Finalizing settings after I select my username and password
