Hi All i am new to this forum , and love to chat about Tech stuff . Specially (Windows 7) . i am just posting this thread to inform you all that windows image .Wim can now be viewed with 7 Zip 4.56 beta edition .
cool nice find. Beats having to mount the WIM to extract it. Though I don't know how 7zip can do this because WIM is a proprietary format.
This is one of reasons i started to use 7zip half a year ago. And current stable version is 7.65 with beta 9.04.
Hi Guys Next cool thing is ... Once you open the Install.wim or the Boot.wim with 7zip you should be able to see a folder called "files" which would have many files inside with numbers as there name Ex : 01028 ,01249 etc .. most of these files are registry hives which can loaded into a live registry just by "load hive" option with Regedit Feel free to post QA's
