4 years makes huge difference and that is just official MS patch end, not 3rd party software and drivers add 10 more years at least, so thats 14
@ danye1 ... if by some miracle I will "upgrade" to W10 Pro (= Ultimate for W7) X64, the smart alternative at this time is dual boot with Win XP Pro and W7 Ultimate. But, for more stable experience I am told that OS Linux Mint (tripple when adding last OS) is the way to go. I had girlfriends gamer laptop running W10 that is not using an user friendly UI.And the software graphics really suck in the incredibly cheaply looking ikons on desktop.Furthermore M$ adopted their stingy approach to save money with blocking the possibility for newbies to change the beautiful color palette so nicely put together by Windows. It seems that W10 is trying a bold one with adding IOS, Android and Linux; now W is taking over the World backed up by M$ .This is definitely not my cup of tea after the experience with deactivating specific updates to NOT receive any W10 OS.This resulted in total system disc crash that lost 650 GB of information (there is no backup) and M$ is really the worst assholes around when I call up the support for help; blame is on me for accepting the - extremely - annoying prompts in the right hand corner of the screen to increase improvement of my super fast system (running WD Velociraptor 1.5GB @ 10000 rpms). So "dear" M$: is what you deserve for this! I do not want W8 (or 8.1) running on steroids!
