Im Sorry to make you wait, I dnt know hashing the file took that long. Here it is MD5 = 2572274e6b0acf4ed1b502b175f2c2db
Code: en_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x86_dvd_u_677460.iso MD5: 2572274e6b0acf4ed1b502b175f2c2db SHA1: 65FCE0F445D9BF7E78E43F17E441E08C63722657 MD5 is OK, what binpatch file are you using? Quick view makes me believe you need 'GSP1RMCHPFREO_EN_DVD.bin-patch' to convert to HomePremium OEM
Thanks for the verification. It is the GRMCHPFREO_EN_DVD.bin-patch ( With both 7600 and 7601) both give the Unexpected target file size EDIT: Voilaaa!! You are SOOO GOOD!! It works. Thanks! btw what are the difference between those two GRMCHPFREO_EN_DVD.bin-patch and GSP1RMCHPFREO_EN_DVD.bin-patch. And can I Reapply another patch if I want to convert the converted iso file into another edition. Big Thanks anyway
GRMCHPFREO_EN_DVD.bin-patch (7600) is for Windows 7 without SP1 GRMCHPFREO_EN_DVD.bin-patch (7601) is for Windows 7 SP1 without Media Refresh GSP1RMCHPFREO_EN_DVD.bin-patch (7601) is for Windows 7 SP1 with Media Refresh Answer to your other question, yes you can apply patch for another edition, you can use the newly converted iso as source as well as the original, eg: X17-59463.iso Note: you only can patch editions that include the 'Media Refresh', as this is used as base image
Hi. I'm kind of new to this, but I would super appreciate it if someone could explain this to me. I have downloaded a windows 7 ultimate .iso file. Info: MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.7.ULTIMATE.RTM.WITH.SP1.X64.RETAIL.ENGLISH.DVD-WZT BUILD: 7601.17514.101119-1850 FILE: 7601.17514.101119-1850_x64fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRMCULXFRER_EN_DVD.iso SIZE: 3,319,478,272 bytes SHA-1: 1693B6CB50B90D96FC3C04E4329604FEBA88CD51 MD5: 56A26636EC667799F5A7F42F142C772D CRC: 8589EE18 Now from reading the posts, it is to my understanding that you can alter the installation language of a particular version of windows 7 ultimate to another. I really want to change this to a simplified Chinese x64 version. So I follow the instructions for changing editions, but every time I try and do it it gives me "Unexpected target file size". What am I doing wrong? I would be very grateful if someone explained to me how to make this work.
Does ei.cfg Removal still works with Win7 SP1 (refreshed media)? I applied in a ISO (X17-58997.iso), but the files ei.cfg didn't has removed. Is it correct? I didn't tested it, just would like to known if it's normal the file keeps inside the .iso (\sorce\ei.cfg) after patch applied.
Hello, I need to change a Windows 7 Professional SP1-U x64 English ISO Retail to an OEM Volume Licence. This because I'd like to have a clean Win7 installation DVD and so avoid the 4-DVD HP installation (bundled with my HP PCs) that also puts a lot of unneeded software. I see that OEM VL x64 English is listed in the readme.txt (GSP1RMCPRXVOL_EN_DVD) but I didn't find the bin-patch file. Am I making some mistakes? By the way, can you please explain me why some images are marked with "U"? Many thanks
Thank you for your answers. Can you please explain me how to get an HP certificate? The serial on the Certificate Of Authority allows me to install the OS but it's not valid to activate it. Thanks again
Ehm... it seems that Oz's posts have been removed... in any case, i thank him for his support and I list below the step I've followed to successfully install Win7SP1 Pro x64 on some HP PC without having to use the "full of useless software" DVDs bundled with the PCs. 1) Install Win7SP1 Pro x64 using the original DVD set from HP 2) Backup HP OEM certificate and volume key using SLIC toolkit 3) Install Win7SP1 Pro x64 using retail DVD and providing the key on the Certificate of Authority 4) Launch OPA tool on the retail Windows7 installation to install the HP SLIC made on step 2 and change the Activation Key Now Windows is successfully activated. I think this can be considered a legal procedure, because I'm starting from the original set of DVD (that is the same for all the HP PC I have bought) and I'm installing SLIC and key that are installed using the bundled DVD set. Hope this can be useful also to someone else.
Does the patcher also patch the dvd label (ex: GSP1RMCMUXFRER_xx_DVD) and if not how can this be done without rebuilding the iso? Sorry if this was already answered. Thanks!
Hmmm indeed. I wanted to touch on the origins of the post real quick without deterring from your current discussion too much. If you have a Windows 7 ISO, you can search for and download the Windows 7 USB/DVD tool from Microsoft for free. It will create bootable USB media out of your Windows 7 ISO seamlessly. Also, install WINRAR for extracting ISO files as well. It is free, and will let you create a flat copy of your Windows 7 ISO, so you can customize it with an autounattend file or other goodies. That's my $0.02. -C
First of all, sorry if my english is not good! Nice app! But I need Win 7 SP1 Media Refresh Portuguese Brazilian (PT-BR). I have the DVD version: pt_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x86_dvd_618754 And I like to convert to refresh version: pt_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x86_dvd_u_677457 I search for torrents or other forms to download this version but torrents don't have seeders and leachers and download sites will consume very time to download. Thanks for your help! Dusec.
Yes, I know that. I have tried integrate the hotfix using DISM but the SHA at the end of the process doesn't match. I like to have the last version of DVDs but I understand that is not necessary! Thanks!
didnt help me at all... "unexpected size error" with any edition i tried. although your always saying something about ei.cfg how can this tiny program bridge the larger difference in size between editions?
Windows edition switcher is only for Windows 7 RTM version not SP1 or Windows 7 SP1 Media Refresh. As for ei.cfg it is just a text file that has the name of the edition of windows 7 but the actual dvd contains all version of windows so you can either change the edition you want to install in the ei.cfg file or remove the ei.cfg file and that will give you the choice to install any version.
