I thought I read all during the Beta and RC that Microsoft was going to have 1 piece of media for all Windows 7 versions. Is this still true?

Could have swore I read in a news post about 1 media housing x86 & x64 bit version from Basic - Ultimate on one DVD.

I understand I can delete the ei.cfg file or something like that and it will allow you to choose which flavor of Win7, but you woul still need an x86 or x64 version.

I've seen all the posts around the forum for different downloads for Premium, Pro, and Ultimate... I guess the only thing to do at this point is to remove the cfg file?

Or is this something we can expect to see around Oct-22?

You can make your own "All-in-one" DVD with both, x86 and x64.

Delete \sources\ei.cfg from your image before burning and it will ask you to select which version to install.

You can combine x86(32bit) and x64(64bit) editions as well, but I'm not sure how to do that.
There has also been mention of only being able to use the DVD to restore/recover x86(32bit) installs -- not x64(64bit).

I think why it will only recover x86 installs is that the aio x86 & x64 dvd is built from the x86

Yes, more specifically it's because the files that control the Windows Installer / Recovery are x86.
In one of the threads, someone said they had it working for x64 too, but I've since lost the thread and don't know if there was a follow up explanation.
