My new pc will be coming with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Does anyone or did anyone ever find out. If the certs. from OEM makers are different between Windows 7 versions? Our is that particular cert. good for all versions? I will be backing up my key/cert. from my new HP.

Yeah, but I had a guy with a very new Lenovo laptop and there was no way in the planet to make it work. It actually did not no matter what I tried.
Therefore I would ad, perhaps, that if RTM was not pre loaded into the machine then maybe that Lenovo had a specific disc with a PID that would not respond?
    :(

@ wendy123, Branded computers come with OEM:SLP key which used with a .XRM-MS that matches SLIC string in bios this Pre-Activated machine so no need to activate via the internet. The key on the sticker is OEM:COA key and you need to call MS to activate.
