Does anyone know why 7-zip works in x64 but fails on x86? This is for the updates file (not the Jan. patches - both open fine with 7-zip).
I hve a problem with these. I put them on a network drive, which I then map to A:\ 1) Don't know why, I can't start a cmd on a:, nor change an open cmd to a: 2) When I run the update script, it says complete but actually nothing is done. It 'installs' all updates in under 10s 3) I go into primary folder etc, try to run the individual files. It fails with 'system can't find the file specified' 4) If I copy the individual file to C: I can run it. Any ideas what I've set wrong on my system? Win7 64bit ultimate With the Jan incremental, I get 'attempt to run program with invalid format'
Hi! Download Windows 7 Sp1 RTM! I already fixed those issues, but i will integrate the fix for updates post sp1 Note: Try running on folder "Updates x64\Primary\" the file "Auto.Detect.cmd" as admin Cheers!
Hi thanks for response. Today magically 'windows update' has managed to connect and get a list of updates (It has never connected in the last 2 mths) there are 140MB of 'critical' updates that aren't included in these Offline Updates I searched a few KB# and they weren't in the folders I wonder why this is? Anyway, I tried to update via windows update and got the 2007efe error again, I don't know what's wrong.
Hi, It looks like your windows update is broken... Try running the Auto.Detect.cmd as admin... Also the updates are downloaded from the microsoft download center page (for each bulletin), they are all there in my pack... I suggest to install sp1 rtm (Search in torrent) and you will be fine.
I installed the latest version of Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit RETAIL EN-US SP1 Integrated (the one released by WZT as we all know) version: 7601.17514.101119-1850_x64fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRMCULXFRER_EN_DVD.iso. Everything gone OK until I tried to check for Windows Updates and realised that only two updates for Microsoft Silverlight exist. What happen to all other updates like Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool? But also other Important (Critical) updates that aren't installed in the system through Service Pack 1!
There are no important updates for windows 7 sp1 yet... If you installed win7 sp1 you are ok... dont mess with patches not listed as official for sp1. Microsoft will release new updates for sp1 next week. I will check the list of patches older and new. and make a package as required. Observation: I can see and install latest removal tool (windows update)... check again on tuesday. Cheers
Is there a way to integrate the Malicious Software Removal Tool? And when I integrate IE9 first, do I still need to integrate KB2482017? I mean, will the old IE8 files still be in the wim image?
Hi, i was on vacation... If you have integrated IE9 you dont have to integrate internet explorer 8 updates... I removed internet explorer 8 files from my Wim image, however the results was lots of trouble in post windows functionality... Then in another test I just integrated IE9 and then do an automated clean-up... its currently working. Some core IE8 files are still there (Installation Disc), but once windows is installed in the machine it uses IE9 files
