Better than Autopatcher Hello, I have just joined MDL and noticed this Windows 7 Offline Updates. I currently use a program called Autopatcher to do the same thing. Is there any difference between the two? Would you say yours is better? Now I am going to go and read up on Bios Mods which is why I originally signed up Regards, Paul
It all depends on what you want. I would prefer this over Autopatcher. There is also a third option, the hotfix repository, which includes all updates not just general release updates. There are over 300 non-superseded (updates that have files that aren't replaced by other updates with new versions of the same files) updates for a Post-SP1 Windows 7 installation. There are a couple of methods of installing these updates.
I had downloaded the program/updates package in Nov-Dec 2011. After that, for each month update, I simply download those few updates and put them in the folder for critical updates. After this, If I then run the critical updates cmd, it picks up all the updates in that folder (original ones+later insertions). So I have not seen the need to download the entire 160-200MB file each month.
