Windows 7 on Dell Studio 1555 with Slic 2.0

    Hi, I currently have Windows 7 RC Build 7127 installed on my Dell Studio 1555.

    I checked the Slic version using the RW utility and seems it has Slic 2.0

    I want to install RTM version of Windows 7 Ultimate on this. What is the best way to achieve this and which releases should I download? Can I just download an ISO file, burn and boot it or do I need to use some sort of loader to first edit my Slic.

    Also I've heard on some sites that the recently released "Microsoft Windows 7 ULTIMATE x86 OEM DVD-BIE" doesn't require any Loader or BIOS mods.

    Also, sorry if I come across as a newbie.

    upgrade to bios version A07 this comes with 2.1

    Hi,
    I hope this is not too late. I have a SLIC 2.1 A13 BIOS on Studio 1555. This system shows as a SLIC 2.0 in RWeverything or SLIC toolkit. Do we need to enable the flag on this by resetting to Manufacturing mode using SVCtag.exe or Asset.com?

    Also I understand that for systems shipped with no SLIC 2.1 and if manufacturer later releases a SLIC 2.1 BIOS then just upgrading doesnt work and you need to put BIOS in manufacturing mode first. Is this correct?

    Any help would be appreciated.
