it doesnt matter even if find the acer oem i will still need win7 loader because the slic table is useless as i said before. so i will install this oem and wait for the win7 loader and activator with oem info. things happen so fast lately that i think it will come faster than expected.
There is only a single file that's different between the Retail and OEM discs: ei.cfg. Retail: ------- [EditionID] Ultimate [Channel] Retail [VL] 0 OEM: ------ [EditionID] Ultimate [Channel] OEM [VL] 0 Since this file appears to be used only for specifying express installs of a particular version instead of prompting for the version to be installed and can be deleted to allow prompting, there appears to be no real difference between the Retail and OEM discs.
oh if this is real then there is no need to download and maybe we shouldnt so as to have the option to chose version of win7. so no difference in activation process?
Not as far as i can tell, seems identical to the retail i downloaded other than the a little thing saying OEM. defaults to ultimate version basically.
Thank you for the links. Before I start downloading, I would like to know which OEM release is this. Thank you.
Hi everyone. I registered a couple of weeks ago, since then I've been reading all news concerning win7. But now I got confused, which version is better for a a BIOS which dosen't have slic 2.1 (3 years old Gigabyte mobo) an OEM or a retail version? Which one would be easier to activate? Thanks in advance for any reply.
that's all the same isos no need to dl. the wzor iso hour and date files are not the same but that's the only difference. someone saw any real certificat for windows 7 ?
someone with OEM already installed, could tell if "product id" on computer properties has the OEM string? or only numbers?
The RTM version has all the WinPE langpacks (all 36 MUIs) and other localised support tool .cab's used in WinPE. The RC version has just the 1st wave 5 languages, so yes... it matters to me.
