leaked, yes, existing, no. There is ~48 updates avilable already. Afaik they will get "released" on 1st.
We have 39 updates - with MRT, silverlight, feature pack, ect... All from this topic. And with definition for ED or MSSE we have 41 updates...
i was talking about 48 "hotfixes/system patches", not aditional software yes kinda sad, when win7 hits GA there will be probably 60+ patches avilable, that users will need to download after 1st install... so much about "RTM" bugs...
Nice job. Only KB974333-x86.cab does not work! CMD says installed and reboot but after rebooting into Windows and checking the installed updates i couldn't find a trace about this update.

Replaced in this sense means that the update 'A' covers the issues found in 'B' etc, and replaces the same files with newer versions. After the installation of 'A', 'B' is no longer installable. 'B' (and etc) can be installed before 'A', the updates don't list themselves as replaced! On a separate issue, not all these updates will be available for download once the downloads become available through normal channels. Many of them are hotfixes, which are available only by request. There are usually several times more hotfixes than updates over time, all of which are pretty much included in 'service packs' (along with some extra fixes/updates etc). Then the process starts over again! Hotfixes are almost always fine to install, there really isn't any more risk installing it than a normal update. The main true reason why they're not widely available for download is simply because hotfixes are small updates that are released quite frequently, and people would be annoyed if they had to download and install updates (and restart) every day! - and yes, hotfixes are released that frequently!
Also incorrect. I have the both versions of KB974204 (and some others - KB123456...), and the newer one replaced the prevous version. The only time you can 'install' an older update file wise than a new one is when you talk about different types of updates, such as GDR, QFE (or whatever they're calling them these days, LDR?). If you can install an older update over a newer update, without considering that Windows may make use of the winsxs store to copy QFE/LDR files, then there is a fault with the update system!

Not all of the leaked updates will be available on Windowsupdate when they're released officially. Microsoft don't release anything but major software updates or security fixes, hotfixes are only available automatically when requested via the relating kb article.
