Which of the updates is for the .NET Runtime Optimization Service? After installing the 9 updates, my CPU is really high, because of this Service.
Thanks for the new link! The .Net runtime optimisation service doesn't run for too long, if you leave it you'll find it will return to normal and you won't see it again I guess the service does exactly what its name suggests, it optimises the .NET runtime?...
I don't think I'll be needing this update though. So I'm trying to figure out which one it is so I can uninstall it.
Well thats just it, if you uninstall it the old version is just going to do its optimisation thing again because you've changed it again! would make sense to let it finish and let it be
I've previously uninstalled updates for the .NET Runtime Optimization Service and my laptop went back to normal.
hmmm sounds strange that updates have always been a problem with the .Net for you... Still, leave it for say, half an hour (should be more than enough) and see what happens. If it is still doing it then, it could suggest there is a problem with your installation... That said, I'll check it out once I have restarted (will be in about 6 mins), and if I notice it behaving unusually (that is, the reoptimisation taking excessive time) I'll let you know. That optimisation leading to the CPU usage is by design, and only runs once after a change with the .Net (as far as I am aware), so its going to happen sooner or later anyways, considering SP1 etc!
The high CPU has been fluctuating for the past 30 minutes. I don't think I really need this update, so I was just hoping to figure out which update it is.
