I wouldn't call wmp12 crap, once you disable the media foundation and use something like ffdshow it's a nice unbloated player. I wouldn't touch any other codecs or packs or players since using ffdshow + wmp.

So has there been any news why those two updates kill the 32bit wmp12? I've since removed them, since I like having the choice between both.

Hello all. New to the group and just wanted to say hello and ask a simple question if I may.

I managed to download most if not all the updates we expect to see in the upcoming SP1 for win7. Now that I have a bunch of update files in a folder, is there a simpler way to install them other then
clicking on each one individually? seems rather time consuming that way but if need be oh well. No big deal. I hoping someone put together a nice little shell program or some simple little program :))

Keep up the good work guys, it's MUCH appreciated !!

    Cheers!

These seem to be mostly test updates, considering its too convenient having them numbers 1 to 10 as well. That said, they still update files to later versions :)

kb1000004, kb1000005, and kb1000006 update the same files to the same versions, however kb1000006 doesn't include some of the files. Once kb1000004 is installed, it seems kb1000005 fails.

kb1000001 updates notepad to a later version that kb123456 doies. so kb123456 is no longer needed. kb1000003 updates solitaire, kb1000007 updates the ipconfig language files, kb1000008 updates setupapi.dll and rundll32.exe, kb1000009 updates netbios, and kb1000010 updates atbroker.

ALL updates are updated to either LDR version 20597 or GDR 16501

Even though these appear to be test updates, it still worth updating if you are keen to use all available hotfixes as you still get later versions of the files :). Its only update 5 and 6 that aren't worth it. Its possible that Zukona may have made these separate for the very reason they will never be considered official updates.

kb981770-v2 is included in this pack also, so if kb981770 gave you problems from 9.1, try version 2 and see if it helps :)

KB1000003 breaks soltaire at least on x64, so stay away from it. KB1000006 does not include "some" of the files because its specificaly for Windows Embedded Standard 7 and components are in 4 and 5 as well. KB1000004 and 5 are SAME, just 4 was signed day later. So i guess keep that one.

Kb1000002 I believe is to do with Server 2008 R2, not Windows 7, therefore it doesn't apply and won't install (will come up does not apply to system). Like I said earlier, 5 and 6 are the same as 4. With 4 installed 5 will fail as it updates the files and system to the same versions but is just a different installer. Update 6 is an LDR only version of update 4 and therefore isn't required.

    To summarise:
kb1000002 not for Windows 7 systems
    kb1000003 is broken
kb1000005 and kb1000006 are superfluous to kb1000004 and not needed

All updates kb1000001 to kb1000010 are likely test updates hence Zukona separating it from the main 9 bonus (this is an assumption).

These updates all have the same GDR, LDR and date of 10 March 2010 (quite old in comparison to other updates).

These are still beneficial for those wanting the latest versions of files, as Microsoft used updated files from that date which are later than those that are otherwise available in other updates.

    Hi,

CONFIRMED that the kb981770-v2 x64 update included in the latest Zukopack 9.2 Fixes the weird WMP 12 error !

Sorry, I'm not keeping up with x64 right now, but just thought I'd share what I've got to this moment.
