hello I have a problem with the Windows 7 Updates x64 RTM, I can't extract the files, is that it comes from extension .001 and .002? any idea? thank you
I dont get it.Why split archives with this 001... nonsenss? Why not have one solid archive? My archives are solid RAR-s with best pack ratio.
in the changelog 1.1.0, it says Moved to unneeded: KB975364, KB976099, KB976098 but is 3 updates are present, they can be deleted? in the pack x86, there is Windows6.1-KB974259-x86 is what can also delete? thanks
I had the same problem. I have winrar but not 7z however knowing that winrar can extract 7z archives I combined them in command prompt like this : copy /b Windows6.1-UpdatesPack-x64.7z.001+Windows6.1-UpdatesPack-x64.7z.002 Windows6.1-UpdatesPack-x64.7z Now winrar can extract the resulting 7z file
WinKEY+R enter regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
which is the final update pack till yet?where to download? I can see many updates by many people in this forum, do i need to download other than v1.1.0 pack in first post? Also temme that Do I need to install these updates if I have already insatlled from Microsoft as in through WIndows Updater. BTW Y THIS THREAD IS NOT STICKY? :O
v1.1.0 is the latest pack and it contains all the updates that has been released yet. Note that not all of these updates all released on microsoft update. Only security related hotfixes and some compatibily updates are released on mu. Most of the hotfixes in george's pack are private hotfixes and generally it is a good idea to install them. They contains lots of bug fixes. It is your choice you don't have to install them if you don't want to.
Because not everybody is willing to install beta updates. Sometimes I feel like beeing in a kindergarten...
