Afraid not, my Realtek soundcard is disabled from the bios so windows 7 hasnt even detected it

Also it worked fine for the first couple of weeks using the system 24/7 :(

So you didn't see anything suspicious in the process manager.
Do a check with hijackthis and post your log here if you can.

I have seen a similar issue with a few Debian Linux systems, the system clock starts running at Ludicrous speed... a couple days ahead every hour. No, I have no idea what causes it but it goes away after a reboot, and will recur randomly.

When I upgraded to windows 7 initially, my cpu was always at 100% usage and everything was super bogged-down. I fixed it with a bios update.

Kind of the opposite of your problem since it was all the time, but figured id throw it out there for ya.

Driver incompatibility (especially sound and video) might be the cause of the problem. My Windows 7 used to hang and stop responding when I install crappy IDT sound card driver from Windows update. I finally found a good modded driver that made my Win 7 run smoothly! So don't trust Windows Update for driver update and try to find the latest driver or change the existing one.
