No, in The first Service Pack for Windows 7 are some great features like AVX support for Sandy Bridge CPU:
USB 3.0 support is a feature in a motherboard chipset. From all reports the Intel Sandy Bridge motherboard chipsets for the desktop and Huron River mobile platforms do not have USB 3.0 support. We'll need to wait until Ivy Bridge is released for USB 3.0 support in Intel chipsets or possibly a little earlier in a Sandy Bridge E chipset. A 3rd party chip or add-in card is presently required for USB 3.0 supported by driver updates and firmware from the chip maker. The much touted Intel LightPeak technology that was to be better than USB 3.0 is also missing and was not demonstrated at CES. PCI-e 3.0 may see the light of day when Sandy Bridge E is released in Q4 2011 along with new PCI-e 3 graphics cards?
Does anybody know how much earlier than GA is it supposed to be released for Technet/MSDN members...one month, two?
What's the thing with sandybridge support? I've heard something about sandybridge support for windows 8 also, but as long as it's an x86 cpu it always works I think. The integrated gpu etc, isn't that just a matter of drivers?
Just from the perspective of appealing to the natural experience of people and how this could be marketed, the tech using LIGHT you would think has a head start there
