run the KB947821 System Update Readiness Tool and then check Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log

found errors on my system, need restore some folders in the winsxs folder in windows, they can be restored from the 7 dvd, extract them from the install.wim using 7zip.

The more fresh is the Windows install, the less prone to errors will be the update. This is a rule of thumb when the subject is a "service pack" installation.

P.S. - The 7 Lite slipstream is a joke. Yes, it worked in a test with a virtual machine; but it only offered me to run the SP1 at the end of the setup.

This is not my concept of slipstream...

There's also a different set of Windows issues that can be checked using this command:

    Code:
    sfc /scannow

Are you folks seeing an "evaluation" watermark on your desktop?

Curious. Has it been established that the fileserve downloads in the first post of this thread are proper? On the second boot of my integrated install, I had an eval watermark on my desktop.

Are you just referring to the SP1 not being available, or the website as a whole being offline indefinitely?
