Yes winsxs keeps old versons as well, if you integrated... its messed up, but otherwise it seems to work in VM, i wont do reinstall on my PC until i see offical MS isos tho.
At last the RTM build is confirmed by Wzor,he has posted a comment of a Microsoft employee, also updated the page with new information..
after reading the new information on wzor.net i gathered that windows 7 sp1 has really reached RTM and we are using the build?
You mean Andre Ziegler? He's a prolific poster on the MS forums, but more likely an MVP or civilian, I think, than a MS employee, given his Web site. Hard to tell though. The censored Russian blogger from last week was though.
Unfortuneately there is no run option. It comes as a .CAB file and it either downloads as such or if "opened or double clicked" is opened by WinRAR. I believe if I could get it installed I probably will be able to get the SP1 done. I have Win Ult X32.
Make a folder on C: called temp, put the cab file in it, then run: start /Wait pkgmgr /ip /m:C:\temp\windows6.1-kb976902-x86.cab /quiet
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I ran the cmd prompt with the switches the way you have it and it tells me it can't find start. When I run the PKMGR.exe I get the switches but I think you may have missed something in your string???
Just run: pkgmgr /ip /m:C:\temp\windows6.1-kb976902-x86.cab /quiet Sorry I copied it from my batch file.
+ 1 Try swampy's instructions .. it looks very similar to what i found on the internet.. Mine was done via Windows Updates by restoring hidden updates. But.. here's another set of instructions i found: To install manually downloaded CABs, just drop the CAB into a directory (i.e. C:\Temp) and use pkgmgr.exe (included with .CAB) to install/integrate it. Code: start /w pkgmgr /ip /m:C:\temp\<filename>.cab /s:C:\temp /l:C:\temp\install.log
I downloaded the rar that contained the files of an Enterprise x64 VL image, and I can confirm the files are all Microsoft original and untouched, so anyone who installed with those files has a Microsoft original slipstreamed installation
i want a windows 7 home premium with sp1 iso but unfortunately i dont have a windows 7 key. i just reformat my system using hp restore and it goes back to windows 7 RTM than install sp1 seperately.
yeah found the sticker with a key so nevermind to that part but i dont have a windows 7 RTM iso or dvd.. i just use system recovery built in the computer and it returns everything back to default factury settings.
