I honestly don't know what's worse: Credible websites saying that the final Windows 8 M2 build has been compiled, or Paul T. trusting MS PR on this kind of matter.
In all fairness, the whole M2 thing seemed like a misunderstanding. Paul takes the cake. A guy that has been around this for so long should know how to read a PR statement better than he did
Well my laptop came that way. I only speak english and that is the only language I want and need on my computers. I guess I can thank Best Buy for that crap!! lol
I don't think so and quite frankly he'd keep it that way. It's not Geohot, ffs! Luckily we get the stuff we need to have and that's it. There's no point in getting even more attention. I don't want 'em get caught or sth. ^^
As I previously posted, my machine is running PERFECTLY without SP1. No issues before, plenty after. I will wait for the official release.
Thing is, the official release is supposedly exactly the same. Even if it isn't, waiting for the official release won't help if you are having 'plenty of issues'. If this really isn't the final SP1 despite all the evidence, and there is an 'updated' sp1, it is likely that any issues you have still wouldn't be rectified. They won't be making too many changes to what we have now (in the scenario where this isn't the RTM). There seems to be some bugs that haven't been rectified in SP1, which is understandable if they were really recent, but some of these do date back quite a way. Its probable that non-affecting (very minor) bugs were omitted from SP1 planning to expediate its delivery, with these bugs possibly fixed in hotfixes. Hotfixes by their nature don't go through the same analysis as a service pack and can be done with a loose schedule in mind.
Well if that's the case I won't be installing SP1. I've had no issues whatsoever without SP1 but after installing it device manager went haywire with USB Host problems.
Well well.....I came, I saw and I conquered. Installed both x86 and x64 versions of SP1 last night on all machines and everything went smooth as butter. This seems authentic, but I'm still not 100% sure/convinced. But I'll guess I take your words for it (I know I know, no one has forced me to install from the beginning) I'll just sit tight and wait a few more days to get 100% confirmation, no offence. I thank you all for this.
First, I apologize if this is a stupid question But I have been searching for several days after the famous Windows 7 Enterprise with integrated SP1 "Windows7_Enterprise_VL_x64_SP1_Final_eng_with_CN_LangPacks.rar" But I can not find anything, there is no download for us "ordinary people"?
the links have a "space" in them purposefully. remove the "space" in the4 link and they should still work. I will double check myself. *digs pages back*
People should be doing clean installs, once MS integrated ISOs leaks... doing clean installs once/2 years for SPs should be fine for anyone anyway.
I'll guess I'm convinced now that this is 100% authentic. MGADIAG showed this: Windows tab: Windows OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.00010.1.0.001 Architecture & Build: 7601.win7sp1_rtm.10119-1850 And Software licensing service version: 6.1.7601.17514 GREAT!!! EDIT: Sorry for any doubts! Thanks again
I'm convinced, anyway. It says it's SP1 & there no watermark on my desktop or sth. like that whatsoever... Why bother?! There's no point by doing that, so... ...and even this isn't the final RTM. Whatever! A proper version gonna cross my way, anyway. So what?! ^_^
