Which means absolutely nothing. They are 100% identical in every way except in this label and the license agreement that is displayed when you install. You can install using an OEM disc and use a Retail key. Or vice-versa. The ONLY thing that the Retail/OEM setting in ei.cfg controls is which EULA it shows when you install.

No. The thing that makes Enterprise different than the others is baked into the code itself.

    ei.cfg serves only TWO purposes
    1) Identifies which index of the WIM to use for the install (only matters if your disc has multiple editions)
    2) Controls "cosmetic" features of the install, specifically, the product edition name and EULA that is shown during the install

Deleting ei.cfg works ONLY if your disc contains multiple editions, as doing so will let you choose the edition. Otherwise, deleting it (or editing the Channel or VL) has no real effect.

Fortunately, the author included the source code, so you can look inside and figure out what the most likely problems might be.

The most common error with the eicfg_remover is a permissions error. Did you accidentally make the ISO file read-only? Did you mess up the permissions so that your user account does not have write access to the file? Does another program have the file locked (e.g., if the ISO image is currently mounted in a virtual drive or in use in a virtual PC or open in 7-Zip, those programs will lock the file to prevent it from being edited while they have the file open). Problems like that will produce the "Input error".

Also, if the ISO file is corrupted, you could get that error too. But it's most likely that it's a permissions thing. Make sure you don't have it read-only. Make sure the file is not open in any other program that might lock the file. Make sure that your user account has write permissions (or run it with elevated administrator privs).

I did not do anything to the iso. just downloaded it and tried the utility. I have turned off UAC and ran the utility as administrator..so not sure why it did not work.

What's insecure about p2p? You just need to know what you're downloading, but I guess it's the same with newsgroups.

    WZOR Iso contents:

We can see Ultimate ISO image contains all Win7 editions, so ei.cfg remove will give access to all choices.

LOL P2P has always been insecure, I used to actually run a torrent site (now closed) and was a member of some very well know ones many years ago, had several alias's inc mrwigsback, policeman, 3pl05iv3, MWB....... these are all many years ago but you may have seen me, the insecurity in torrenting and general p2p isnt in what you download, afterall you can pick up evils anywhere, it's the connections and who can see and abuse them, SSL is about now and makes this better but p2p still works by allowing others to connect to you. News servers ftw everytime, btw to the previous poster I actually have a premium giganews account but have only evr payed once as I use referals to get it free, but before this I used my isp's server (Free).
I didn't/don't mean to offend people or put them off torrenting if that's what they what, but torrenting really is slow outdated and insecure, for people that dont want to use such connection are limited in choice, pesonally I never use rapidshare, megaupload etc only for iPhone apps through installous. So I thought maybe uploading the files to a newsgroups would be a logical addition, afterall they will be available on the groups alot longer than on other hosing sites, and available much quicker.
