So does it seem like the integrated ISOs were not really final? Is it possible that microsoft was just a little sloppy and released these to some OEMs without cleaning them completely? Is there any consensus on the issue?
I would have to agree. The WAIK supplement is pretty much pointless download. No new DISM,No new imagex etc... I didn't integrate anything.I took the default SP1 Integrated iso and integrated my languagepack. This is a bug with DISM itself where it is unable to detect integrated service packs in the ISO and reports ISO-s as SP0. As i said.Open your downloaded SP1 Integrated ISO and you'll find newest DISM in the /sources folder. I don't think there's a difference.MS may use slightly different integration method but i bet my 10 fingers that it's very similar to what we do with DISM.The redundant option in disk cleanup about removing SP1 backup files could be just an slight oversight by MS and some future hotfix removes this option.
I have the Enterprise x64 w/BIE. It states to just install to unpartioned drive and go into BIE directory. Has anyone installed this version yet and do I have to do anything special after installing?
Sorry, but no. I never ever will install those BIE kind of homebrewed ISOs again. I always go with that ISO I modified myself cos I do know what I've done to it.
I don't think the iso is a fake one, if it is then it's made with extreme care. Many details let me believe that this isos actually came from MS. I don't think however that this are the ones that will come on msdn/technet, cause the sp1 files appear to be integrated into install.wim, rather than that it's a real new build likeMS usually makes for integrated isos. The files that aren't updated in install.wim still have the rtm timestamp and buildnumber, with vista sps that files had the same timestamp (and I think even their buildnumbers were updated). Also sp1 appears as an item in the diskcleanup utility, which is not really neat. So I think the isos are from MS but aren't the final ones.
Run great for fake People need to wait for ms to catch up with up dates ect sidenote had to install kb 971033
^ That would not be a good summary of what has just been said. They were saying that the iso's are probably real and a MS produced iso, but maybe not exactly (some cleaning up to do, etc.) what will eventually be released by MS as the official isos. For that matter, would it be possible that SP1 itself may still undergo some minor editing? etc...
Well I do have another one that is self activating w/the Dell master code. I'm wondering if that one will still work and just to disable the update involving genuine windows. I installed this version over a year ago but now my friend needs Win 7 on a new computer he is building. You think this one will work MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.7.ULTIMATE.x64.SELFACTIVATING.OEM.SLP.ENGLISH.+WPI?
Well, open the iso, go to the sources folder, search for a "$OEM$" folder and u will see the magic (?) that self activates it!!!
Guess I will use the same one for my friends machine because I have had no problems and it shows my copy is activated and genuine. Just have to remember to disable KB971033 update.
Just because there are some mistakes does not mean its not the RTM they will ship, MS is not perfect they always make mistakes
exactly... i will lough my ass of to non belivers when same isos/sp1 gets released to technet/public. Why on earth you still doubt in things wzor and zukona are posting? do they have such a bad track record? in fact, tell me only _once_ they posted something that was later considered not genuine.
