chill out. people are conversing. there are inconsistencies that have been found, that have not been made by M$ with previous integrated ISOs.
problem is... 150 pages and probably half of the posts is about authenticity of SP1/isos... i seriously have feeling this is all people talk about and no i didnt read even 3/4 of posts, but every time i open this topic last one or two posts are about this. i wonder if there would be half of this posts/topics if that idiot of paul throutt (or whatever he is) and that guy from isstartedsomething wouldnt post that this isnt RTM version of SP1.
Most of the pages here is about the exes, which are for sure the real things. But the isos are really messy, while previous integrated isos were perfect to the finest detail. This is why I think that the iso is in fact 100% genuine rtm, but not the same iso as we'll see. MS may rebuild the same iso, with the exact same files, but without the imperfection. Consider this: MS made a quick test rtm integrated iso (the one zuko has and we have now). Then they saw it was ok and rebuild the same thing but with a bit more eye for detail, this time not only english, but all languages etc. If it went like this then this are going to be on technet. However there's no functional difference with the wzor ones.
so is it probally not a good idea to install the windows 7 intergrated iso from wzor.net and just install the exe file of sp1?
I'm reformatting to factory default and gonna install the exe of sp1 seems safer route than iso for now
As long as you use an original Microsoft ISO you will be ok. The ISO's to be wary of are all the others, there are many integrated ISO's that claim to be originals, they should be avoided.
It was mentioned before that the leaked M$ SP1 RTM contains "Build Version Teststring" in Registry, that should not exist in completely clean M$ iso. Based on these Registry entries, can M$ detect that we are using these leaked iso, thus completely lock out all updates in Windows Updates? On a side note, installing the leaked SP1 into Windows 7 RTM did not remove KB2264107-v2 and KB2305420 from the list of Installed Updates, suggesting that these 2 hotfixes are newer than the files contained in SP1. Suppose if I install the leaked M$ SP1 RTM in my computer, can I install these 2 hotfixes? Or, should I wait for SP1-compatible version of these hotfixes?
Does anyone know what's going on with the license files on the SP1 integrated ISOs from WZor? For example: 7601.17514.101119-1850_x86fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRMCULFRER_EN_DVD.iso\sources\license\_default\_default\enterprisee\license.rtf Contains: MICROSOFT WINDOWS 7 OPERATING SYSTEM RELEASE CANDIDATE It seems every licenseE (that have an extra E at the end) have this. Is this normal?
So I assume you are an OEM partner then? Otherwise your confirmation is useless. Physical evidence? for example pictures of shipped media?
Well some kind of evidence that this is whats shipped to OEM partners..Physical evidence, pictures or whatever..
All of the Eval licenses except Enterprise have the Pre Release eula. There's no way this is the final version. Code-wise, maybe, but definitely not the final iso. Why would they? Just because you're using a leaked iso doesn't mean that your license is invalid. I wouldn't be concerned about that scenario at all.
