    WOW great guide guys...

By the way Restorator2007 seems a bit dated, anything more up to date being developed as an alternative? My bad I guess I can just use Resource Tuner which seems to be more up to date, developed...

There are a bunch of others. Rec. Tuner, Anolis, ...
There was one that is very promising, can't remember the name right now...o_O
    They'll all do the job.

Reshacker has always been a good tool of trade and now with 3.5.2 Beta it supports x64 :)

wow nice. Thanks for sharing this info. I love tweaking my themes. I really wanted to change the theme to something more superman like and this should really help.

Change the white background in Start Menu (x86 and x64):

    the area in "all programs" : 806, 807, 817
Do I put the whole picture in each of these? What is #806, #807 and #817? Is anyone of these the bar with "all programs" in?

    Do I scale to fit?

It turns out that the "green horizontal scrolling bar/indicator" was from Vista. I have XP and 7 installed in dual boot mode, but I restored by XP partition from a time when I had XP and Vista installed in dual boot mode.

What is interesting is that everything worked with 7, just that the 7 animation with "starting windows" was entirely replaced by the Vista bar with "Microsoft".

I suppose that the related files were on the XP partition, since it is the first partition.

Anyway, I like the plain look of the green horizontal scrolling bar from Vista more that the "starting windows" animation in 7. Is there some way I can make this same change on a standalone 7 installation. Which files are involved?

Your situation has nothing to do with the comment I gave above. That's a different ballgame. When a graphic card doesn't support higher then 1024x600, the animation won't run.

In your case it's something different.
The green vista bar is part of the vista boot loader. Same as the animation is part of the win7 boot loader.
When you restored your xp partition, your win7 bootloader got replaced by the vista boot loader.
They both work perfectly fine for win7, but now you also have the vista bootscreen instead of the animation.

To have this with a standalone win7, just replace the win7 boot loader with the vista loader.
To my knowledge, the easiest way is to use EasyBCD 1.7.2 to do this (version 2.0 has the win7 loader, so that one won't work for this).
Just use the "reinstall vista bootloader" option and reboot.
    This works for me.

PS: thanx for all the comments. Preciate it. Too bad for now I can't devote much time online. That will change soon though, and then I will return to the flock ;)
