so unsigned themes must be running but sometimes stops working after sleep(standby).well that's a beta thing and not a wise idea to use it for a long time...you know that's why its beta

I'd like to change the icon for files and directory, but it works not with the "display mosaics"

the icons is changed only if the display is in "details" or "small icons"

I tried changing the icons in imageres.dll but without success
if someone could give me a tutorial or how to

First off, thanks! Brilliant thread.
Second, I'm having trouble getting Hex Editor Neo to save taskmgr. It just gives me a message saying "Error saving file: Access is denied (0x80070005)"
No fun at all.
I'm using v 4.95 if it makes a difference.
I thought maybe the batch replace was the problem, but going one at a time didn't help.
I tried copying taskmgr to another folder and then modding it. It saved ok, but then I am told that it's not a valid windows file anymore. Sigh.
Ownership and permissions do nothing to help.

If anyone has any ideas as to what the problem is, I'd greatly appreciate any help.

Oh, and I love the dark blue progress bar.

edit: Opening up permissions and running as admin lets me save, but it still tells me what I saved is not a valid file, and won't run it. Argh.

 

This is one of those threads that you're really glad you stumbled across. well done genuine555. Makes T'Interweb all worthwhile.

Now I must admit I've not trawled through all the posts (yet!). But I'm looking for the values I need to change to make the taskbar clearer, as in reduce the blur. I've looked at png's 839 & 840 in the msstyles file and I've done the registry tweak that reduces or removes the "stripey" blur, it's the stuff behind that, that I'm trying to clear up, BUT, I still want a hint of colour to it. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'll be eternally grateful etc. etc.

It may be it's because the checksum has changed. Can you re-set it with hex Editor Neo before saving?
(It may also be that I aint got a clue what I'm on about!!)

there is still no possibility of having the taskbar transparent (just the taskbar, no icons in it)
