Thanks for that reply where i thought imageres.dll was the place that the ugly stinky yellow Font is hiding...since Vista and until now Win 7, i still can't hunt it... I even try shell32, same no go.......... If anyone do manage to change this icon......please let me know.....
You're welcome pall, no need to thank me . I just think that everyone should be able to perform their own mods, that's why I put up these guides, and that's why I DON'T put up completed custom themes. They can cause trouble in many cases. When u do the mods yourself, because it's your own work, you will be able to trust it more, and be able to troubleshoot better in case of issues, because u then better understand how it works.
Ok, I've got a little request here... Been working on a guide how to remove the user picture from the top of the startmenu. It involves some hex editing, but as I don't know much about that, I'm kinda stuck. This I have known for long, works in Vista : 1. Open the mssytles file in Restorator 2007 Extract variant > normal 2. Open the normal file in VXI32 3. Ctrl + G 4. Enter 0144c8 in decimal and press OK 5. Replace 01 with 00 6. Save 7. Drag normal file back into restorator replacing the original 8. Save 9. Restart themes service ...but in Win7, the hex values seem to be different. If anybody here knows some hex-editing and can help me out here, It's very much appreciated. Need to find the right value(s) to change in order to complete the guide... anyway many thanx for who can help me out here
Click somewhere on an empty spot of your desktop to make sure nothing is selected. CTRL + Scroll to make them smaller / bigger. Backgrounds have been made with The Gimp2. No dock used here... The icons, see guide number 7. hope this helps
Added an addon for FF to make it aero. Links to the files have been added too (Rapidshare & 2shared). Screens :
i got 2 things to say to you Genuine 1. freaking awesome thread ++rep, but you have to tell me how to get that bar you have on topn of your Windows Desktop (with icons) 2. you came too late to my rescue in my thread, thanks bro lol i was expecting to see your expert help lol, but is all good i just reinstall windows.
Have been gusy, so sorry bout the late reply, my friend. Everyone thinks it's some kind of dock, but everyone is wrong. I prefer not to use any docks. I made it by creating the top background in the wallpaper itself, with The Gimp2. Photoshop is also good. If u are familiar with these apps, it won't be that hard to do. I'll send u a pm later on
You're welcome. And thanx for that alternative addition. Now that little mod will work for everybody. Once again, if anyone has more cool mods they like to share, post them here and if they're usefull I will add them to the first post, with credits...

there must be. c:\windows\resources\themes\aero\aero.msstyles do you have aero enabled ? but even so, when disabled, the file is still there.
