Yes, that about sums it up. Allthough (for the moment) the stylehacks are mostly for Vista and don't work properly in win7, but that will change very soon. UKintel and others are allready working on that.

The comparison tool is to me one of the nicest features in VSB.

btw...thanx, searchengine, and welcome at MDL ;)

Like searchengine said -> trial and error

    @ searchengine

the theme you posted in the desktop thread, did you do the transparent start menu yourself ? Been trying that, but can't get it 100% right yet...

    Hi all.

Is it possible to change the color of menu bar?? It's really annoying.

Put back the original file and reboot. Then re enable aero.

Could you explain what went wrong ?

    x64 or x86 ?

Did you use a pre-modded aero.msstyles, or applied the mod yourself ?

That means you didn't follow the guide properly.
Every guide implies renaming the original file and copying the modded file in place.
Always keep the original file as backup in case something goes wrong.

Did you apply the UxStyle patch ? It is neccesary...

    Hi

What I want to change is the color of menu bar not folderband, It's slightly different color. The menu bar color affects a lot of programs and their toolbars, while as far as I can see folderband color only appears in Explorer.

The image for the taskbar is supposed to be in aero.msstyles, right?

If so, can anyone say exactly which image it is?

I exported them all into a folder but try as i might i am not able to tell which one it could be...

(Need to see the raw image to match my project with it.)

    Taskbar images in aero.msstyles :

845 = Taskbar areas under start orb, notification area, and time/date.
    1028 = Main taskbar area.
1062 = Show Hidden Icons button.

    Hope this helps

I'm looking into this. Seems to be two different images in aero.msstyles. The images are very small, but I've narrowed them down to the next 40.
No guarantees I'll find them soon, but I'll give it a try...

Can't seem to pinpoint the exact resources. The first should be between image 624 and 665, and the second between 708 and 749.

That's the best I can do for you for the moment. Tomorrow I'm gonna try some other methods to try and find them.
