It's not really all that bad. I didn't mean to imply that. I was referring to the .theme files location of the .msstyles. I guess I didn't understand the instructions, lol
Yeah, but you're somewhat right about it. It is just a f***d up workaround. I'd rather have the transparent SM only, so It can be implemented in any theme you like.
Problem to activate windows 7 to acer extenza 4630z can you help me to resolve this problem? i cant activate windows 7 to ACER EXTENZA 4630Z.. i need ur suggestion. tnx guyz
Thanks. Admittedly i still dont quite comprehend how (and why) they made the taskbar out of that 3-pixel-row 'image', but then thats not really important so its probably best to just file this under 'Unclear' and move on. Thanks again.
only the middle row represents the actual taskbar. top and bottom pixel row are the edges. Just so you know how. As for "why", I don't really know. MAybe to limit the size of the files that store these images, or maybe even just to make theming more difficult, who knows...but most of the aerostyle images are scaled down like that, and my best guess would be the limitation in size. Storing larger images would mean larger files, would mean larger os (if you take thousands of files into consideration). gen
I would think that making the images that I colored in order to change the white start menu would need to be mostly transparent which I could do very easily with PSP. Although I still wouldn't have a transparent background for the All Programs Extended menu.
If you can provide me with an aero.msstyles file with transparent start menu (except all prog), then maybe in VSB I can complete it. In VSB I can change that all programs background. But I do remember reading about it in the style builder forums a while ago. A few ppl mentioned composition being broken in win7 start menu, and it couldn't be done. That's why I gave up the search back then. But we could give it a try, would be great to get this done, don't you think ?
Not for the link on the first post of this topic. I just now re-downloaded and it's the same. Is there another link I missed?
Can you provide me with a list of all the images that would need to be transparent, well semi-transparent. Also, you want the colored part only or the outer border too? I can cut the white colored part, add the trans and paste back into a new image. If you like it the way it's done in the theme on your first post, then all I would need to do is to lower the trans percentage and save the image.
I guess some ppl misunderstand this one. The treestructure you see when you download this MUST be maintained. ALSO the filenames (aaeroA). Just copy everything inside the rar to your themes folder. Put the AaeroA folder next to your default aero folder and the theme file in the themes folder, and then just doubleclick the .theme file. Like this : That would be perfect. When done, post the aero file here, and I'll see if I can replace the all programs background with transparent image. (provide a transparent image too)
start>startmenu>panels>basic>moreprogamstab windows 7>start menu>basic>moreprogramstab (allthough in "basic", it also affects aero apparently).
I guess I'm stupid, there is no AaeroA Folder. There is only an AeroX folder with aeroX.msstyles, wallpapers etc.. and an AeroX.theme which points to AaeroA.msstyles within AaeroA folder. I'm guessing that I'm suppose to make the AaeroA Folder and paste the downloaded "AeroX" Folder into that??
