dell vostro phoenix bios version1.0.15 orbit realease 5 option 2 activated , i think it is to make sure that you have a partition on your hard drive to take the glrdr file.
How would i update to the new version of the loader if i already have the old one installed? Just click the .exe again?
If you are already activated you don't ever need to do anything again with any future version of the activator. Just be happy and keep on going. No need to "upgrade"
This trick might work to keep the key going (worked on XP) Add this to hosts file 127.0.0.1 sls.microsoft.com 127.0.0.1 mpa.one.microsoft.com
Even better would be null addresses 0.0.0.0 as local address still tries many connection until giving up. It's more of a ping thingy, really.
Hazar, I wonder if I can delete the file after I use the lo*der? Also, does it do the BIOS emulation only the first time you use the loader or every time? And does it slow down boot time?
You can delete the installer, but not the files it makes, and no, does not slow boot well if you count millseconds it does
Go into C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ and open the file named "hosts" with any editor (notepad will do) and add the two lines provided by Hazar at the end of the file, save and close You might need to edit the file or folder's rights before being able to edit this file.
What that does is if any software is trying to access those URL's then it will redirect them to 127.0.0.1 which is your PC. So because it cannot get to where it wants it stops trying
