I have two system images-one with windows 7 enterprise rtm+sp1 (as a standalone), and one newly created system with windows 7 enterprise with sp1. Apart from the fact that installing integrated iso takes less time (compensated by time spending on reinstalling software), I found that installing integrated iso plus all software resulted in perhaps 2-3 GB less hard disk space compared with windows 7 enterprise rtm+updates+software+sp1. What could be causing the bloat in installing sp1 on top of rtm??
Where would those be. Not that an extra 2-3 GB means much in terms of HDD, but still 2-3 GB extra with nothing to show for it does not make sense. Anyway, have made a new system with windows 7 enterprise sp1 iso. Had tried sp1 on top of rtm last week, but had time on the weekend for a new install. Perhaps if I know where to remove the sp backup files, I can remove them from the old image.
Open an elevated command prompt, & type "dism /online /cleanup-image /spsuperseded" without the quotes and the backup files will be deleted....
Thanks. I will have to bring them online (ie restore and then cleanup). I think there is an offline method too but I am comfortable with this too.
Can we also have mirrors? With other filenames and passwords of course.. I can upload to my skydrive but thats only 25 GB..
