George King: Can you say what does mean this topic? Brandrune: All Update packs are to be deleted soon. Members can post there packs here to be put into our official thread. Mr Jinje: Don't delete George's thread, didn't he write a program that installs updates automatically. People still gonna need that. Brandrune: We have compromised with the poll and having one official thread. If GeorgeKing wants his program and updates in the thread he needs to add them here.
Congratulations! This information (mainly the KB number) will help the people to not make mistakes when choosing a hotfix. I wish the best success to secr9tos in his new challenge and to Brandrune and moderation team by this wise decision.
Sorry, but if i understand corectly my own thread about my own (special thanks to SweetSmile for updates) Updates Packs will be delete?
The hotfix kb978258 which I have listed under the hotfix collection thread supercedes kb976972 as found in the update packs. I've ammended the post with that information
This is a good thread, no question about it, but I think that MS update is not that bad. Give MU a chance.
Added kb977132 to the hotfix collection thread. That update must be intergrated in to the Windows install files at stated in the hotfix info. It can be installed at any time, but the issue resolved with the hotfix occur at the end of installation. To integrate, use the update.exe tool provided By George King in his update thread.
Hi, Just wondering why a very recent post (a couple of hours ago) in the 'Windows 7 RTM Updates Packs x86 & x64' was deleted? The post contained links to updates that aren't included in any pack... It included: Windows6.1-KB974562-x64 Windows6.1-KB976296-x64 Windows6.1-KB977140-x64 Windows6.1-KB977576-x64 Windows6.1-KB977609-x64 Windows6.1-KB977927-x64 I assume the x86 files had the equivalent updates. Was it deleted because it was posted in the wrong thread, or is there some other reason? Thanks
Well, downloaded and installed all the x64 updates (one or two weren't applicable, but I have turned off some features, and I guess they may only be for Windows 2008 R2...) Anyways, some quick info: - Kernel has been updated, version reported by windows now: Buildlab: 7600.win7_ldr.091207-1941 Buildlabex: 7600.20591.amd64fre.win7_ldr.091207-1941 - pkeyconfig file updated. This may be the cause of the suggested WGA issue. However, I have found no issues with WGA with Daz's loader, including actually going to the Microsoft download site and downloading the Firefox WGA plugin, and clicking on an item to download. Worked perfectly and Windows still says genuine. I have an Asus MB, and under the advanced options used the Asus SLIC, Certificate, and Serial! However, its more likely that the really old keys that some people are still using is the problem, newer keys, especially those that are used on released laptops from manufacturers, are probably fine. - Updates the WOW emulator, the system that allows 32 bit apps to run under x64. - Numerous other updates including media, colourspace converters, NDIS, TCPIP, IE, Netfx, Directshow, VFW etc There seems to be many more x86 updates than x64 updates, I'm guessing they cover most of whats in the x64 pack plus several other fixes. And of course, a big thanks to serp202 for uploading these, I'm sure many like myself will appreciate it!
