Depends on your usagge - Windows 7 Home Premium will fit the most needs of an regular user, higher Versions got more features - like Bitlocker. So, Windows 7 Ultimate and Enterprise (are nearly the same) are the best Versions of Windows 7. And when you live in a country that allows reselling of "Systembuilder" Versions of Windows, the price won´t be the problem, when you wan´t to use Windows 7 Ultimate (a.t.m. ~135EUR excl. shipping for Ultimate)
No better or worse edition, depends on your expectation in relation to the OS. Ultimate is the most complete, with all the features, while Home Premium is a simpler edition for the home users.
The real truth......... It may not be obvious on the surface, but only true players and high profile individuals use Windows 7 Starter Edition. Go Starter, sit back and watch the magic happen..............
Ultimate is of course the best, bar Enterprise which is a business version. But anyhow its what you prefer. Home Premium for the average user and Professional for those that care. Thread locked.
all members says that ultimate and enterprise r same version .. but i have a dought because in msdn both version shows different size . can anyone explain this ..
ever heard of google have a search and look at the differences between ultimate and enterprise, you will see they have almost the same features.
Activation methods and SKUs inside the ISO. Ultimate ISO included Ultimate, Professional, Home Premium, Home Basic, Starter. While enterprise is just enterprise. I would say if you don't use bitlocker or multi languages which I think you don't, Home Premium is just enough. Even in Home Premium, people seek to turn off some services they don't use.
I'm going to have to go with Ultimate because it has all the features. I'm currently running it on my netbook. Atom N270 with 1GB of ram and it's pretty smooth. It'll be even better if I had a 2GB ram stick.
