He everyone i have converted a Windows 8.1 With Update Pro WIM to ESD... that succesfully worked. but now i have converted a Windows 7 Ultimate WIM TO ESD and it doesn't work.. the Windows Setup says i cant find the Install.wim i have changed in my AutoUnattended.xml.. that the windows setup opens Install.esd but i get a error that says: unable to open Install.esd.. why? windows 8.1 succesfully worked or is this only for Windows 8.1 and not for Windows 7? can someone help me please thx..
The win7 setup cannot support esd recovery compression. You have to use a win8.x setup architecture or at least winpe 4+ with the setup packages integrated.
I'm not going to walk you through it, but if you want to give it a shot, download the Windows ADK. Then do some google searches about winpe creation.
You sad Use win8.x architecture.. can you explane that for me? is that possible to use that in a windows 8 image?
He, Win8.1SE is for making live cd's? i'ts beautiful software but i make Windows images, with updates, software, and more... and for Windows 8.1 i have succesfully maked a ESD i want that with Windows 7 to.. But i don't want a Live cd.. but i take a look to the tools
Yes, you make your Win8.1SE Live CD or USB and adding to it WinNTsetup and your install files and folders (.wim, .esd, Iso), then booting it you can install from .esd or .wim images or full Iso's Regards
First thing sorry for bad En :- I think the reson of using esd format is the redusing size of the dvd or install.wim will be totaly defrent the simplest way to get the WINPE 4.0+ is to put the install.esd of windows 7 file that was made by you in any source of 8.1 and it defently work , other ways try this method addin windows 7 image into an windows 8.1 source by any aio maker the installtion will be like installing an 8.1 system but the final result is insatlling 7 image without any error i hope this help you by any way .
