Ok, so I'm really quite new to the really advanced stuff, but I'm getting the hang of it. However, I've tried installing Aero Glass for Windows 8.1 so I can get a lighter window font (and if possible for my Windows 7 Start Menu) on my darker theme, and for some reason its not working? I've looked everywhere and can't find a tutorial that will work for me. I'm getting quite flustered just trying to customize my windows. :| Also, the Aero Glass I have I downloaded from the "official" website, but there's this ugly watermark? on the bottom right hand side of my screen. It's white and very unsightly. How do I get rid of it? Edit: I apparently have Aero Glass, BUT the window font color isn't changed. It's still black, but there's a fog like glow behind the text, and it isn't what I wanted.
The watermark and the fact my Active Window text isn't white. It's still black, but has a foggy white haze in back of it. But it looks like I have everything else for Aero Glass? And how do I register my Aero Glass? I've also done that tutorial post and it didn't work for me.
Afaik the window text is defined by the theme you use. Using myself Poison theme (the one for Win 8 not win 8.1) by Mr Grim which offers white window text and is perfectly collaborating with AeroGlass.
I used the Red Machinist theme, and thought the title would be red. :c My DWM is incompatible with Aero Glass? What do I do to fix this??
Try this download: glass8.eu/stuff/gui.7z You only need to use AeroGlassGUI from gui.7z folder. From this site: glass8.eu/ The inventor of DWMGlass.dll (AeroGlass). NOTES: I can't post full links because my post count is not 20 OR more.
It was by a guy clled LiveOrDieTM on deviantart. Alright, so I got my Window text to be white, thanks to Ace2. But I still don't know how to "register" my Aero Glass to get rid of the watermark. And is there any kind of theme that can change the font style? Just out of curiosity as I downloaded the Aero Glass Configurator and one of the themes pictured had a different font face.
I don't want AG if I'm required to donate money... I'm already working minimum wage and "small doantions" won't be looked at? What? It doesn't even say how much is eligable for the "full version." No thanks. Is there anything else I can use for UxStyle then? That's the other one I downloaded but I don't know how to download more styles for it.
Everyones own decision to use or not . UXStyle is a service based theme patch to allow non-signed themes, so any of them will work with it. Prefer it over patching the OS files directly (UltraUXThemePatch and similiar) as it creates no hassle with windows updates.
I'm back to square one then. I uninstalled all Aero Glass files, and have Uxstyle left. All I'm looking for is white titles for my windows... I had it going for a second, but I kept getting error messages with Aero Glass and got fed up with it working for 3 minutes, then undoing itself. What do I do? Edit: Here's what I want specifically: - White Title Text for my Windows (Active and inactive) - White text for my Windows 7 Start theme in bottom left hand corner - A black and red theme (I installed a theme called Red Machinist from a guy called LiveOrDieTM on deviantArt) so maybe something that has a red glow for on the titles?
Ok... Trying to extract it to my Theme folder on my C:, and I'm getting error messages galore. I don't know if anyone is willing to go this far, but I feel like I'm either not getting it, or I'm missing something really important. If sharing screens on skype and having someone walk me through it, I think I'd be able to get this mess figured out..
It needs the THEME file and the same named folder (including MSSTYLES file and several sub-folders) being in the c:\resources\themes folder.
I know there are more themes, but it happens with every theme I try. I should have also mentioned I get a specific error message. Something with my DMW not being "compatible?" What does this mean?
That message is normally connected to AeroGlass . As said, make sure you're using the correct files, some of the themes come with additional folders, where the theme files sometimes reside in a folder named theme.
