this is getting boring... They WONT EVER recorver the market they already lost. And who cares now about the start button?. Too late. And, please, ENOUGH of rumors, this is getting worse than the longhorn s**t
If they add a Start button(Metro screen) and not old skool Start menu that 95% of users want, They better add option to remove Start Button from taskbar I don't mind it hidden in corner like it is atm I don't need it shoved in my face. When Im at my pc I have no use for weather and mail apps etc that's what smartphones are for.
i suspect that start button that they will add will be useless since it will point to Metro Screen. 0x000860 NOT_REQUIRED
the whole touch or no touch debate is ridiculous. Do you actually see anybody in an office do all his work without a mouse? Definitely not. So we need an operating system that is easily usable with a mouse and also with your fingers for those that just surf the internet, play idiotic games and update their facebook status. If they are too stupid to fit both in one they should make two different os. Its nice to offer a finger friendly interface but it is no excuse to cripple the ui that is used by millions in a productive environment. By all means go and change it, make it flat, get rid of transparency. I couldnt care less. But don't make it worse than it was before. I'm afraid of the day they decide to remove the old control panel, because frankly the new one is a piece of s**t, even in Blue. It might be ok to set your browsing preferences or privacy settings but i wouldnt want to do lots of network settings or stuff like that in the new control panel. So i wish MS would just give us a few options like "boot to desktop" "use efficient control panel" "open all formats with desktop software" and "get rid of all the -------- touch stuff because i dont have a ------- touch display".
Hm, a lot of ------- .... in the message but honestly, I ask you: Is there anything in W8 which can only be accessed by touch? At my end, I can use all features of the operating system by using Mouse, keyboard or even touchscreen if available. The only little thing which has changed is the way you use it. I remember using a mouse when it came out ... huh, what a mess when you only used keyboard before.
Instead of asking for more new and cool features on the modern UI to improve Windows for professional mouse users, too many people are just asking for old things, a tiny menu with folders and sub-folders, a Start button that is sometimes visible, sometimes not (where is the Start button if you watch a full-screen video?).
Wow, feeling a lot of negativity on this thread. If you don't like Windows 8, a Windows 7 downgrade is always an option. Chill out everyone
It's like every time, some news, special from MS came out, users complaining even if they're having used the new OS/Apps etc! Best would be to just ignore those! Sure, nothing is perfect and with any new "Toy" there will come something which has problems. That's just normal. Who couldn't live and handle that, should just stay with old one they say it's perfect!
