Hello. Some time ago I purchased the Windows 8 upgrade offer. I have a legitimate Windows 8 Media Center product key from MSFT. I don't remember exactly what problem I had upon the upgrade of Windows 7, but I do know that ended up using the Microsoft Toolkit for activation.

I just ran the latest version (2.4.9) and it says that AutoKMS is installed, the channel is Retail and the product key is the legit one that I purchased from MSFT.

Does anyone know if I can install Windows 8.1 from the store, or will I have trouble with the activation again?

    Thanks!

(edit to be extra clear: I'm aware of the problems with the Microsoft Toolkit and 8.1. I just want to know if having AutoKMS installed in 8 will block the 8.1 store upgrade!)

If your key is legit everything should be alright. You could also backup your Win8 activation in case something goes wrong.

    Run slmgr.vbs /dlv & post the output.

What is the point of using AutoKMS with retail key??
