    I dunno about any WIM, I downloaded the Windows 8.1 Pro GA EN-US directly from Microsoft's Setup installer, then chose not to intall it but create an ISO instead, and it fit perfectly on a 4 GB USB Stick

    Do you want Pro or Single Language ISO? I have both in EN-US with the GA Updated integrated

    Why do people use generic keys anyway? Just set your edition in ei.cfg file and copy it into sources directory. You can enter your windows 8 key after installation...

    Which of the following is better way of installation:
    1. Windows --> WMC --> Win Updates
    2. Windows --> Updates --> WMC ?

    Get:

    9600.17050.winblue_refresh.140317-1640_x86fre_client_professionalwmc_en-us-ir3_cpwmca_x86frer_en-us_esd.esd or

    Both already have WMC built in.

    I think the first option is better.
    WMC component also requires an update.
    Get updates at the same time is likely to be better.
    :)

    I would think WMC would be the first thing to do.... since WMC is only Locked inside Pro and the KEY unlocks, you do not even need the internet to get WMC..
    so use your Genuine WMC Key an then go for broke.....

    On the side note, since Win Update 2 is coming fast, when it'll be released, lots of folks will be doing clean install. This thread seems to have lots of good info, so maybe @Tito or somebody else could make it a sticky?:)
