i tried switching to local account in pc settings by signing out of microsoft one.then appeared option to go to local account, but after switching, the thing went bonkers.everything on the screen started flashing etc.so did a reboot and it was still doing the same thing,so switched back to microsoft one?ill stick with that, just wanted to post in case anyone else had the same experience.
You did clean install or upgrade? This can be a bug, maybe if you upgraded from Windows 8 that option bugged somehow.
guys u can switch to local account even if u have online account. just go to user account. and under ur account name u will see a small disconnect line, click on it and it will allow u to use a local account
I wouldn't use the word "encouraging" but rather "unfortunate." Not merely that the ISO is so delayed but that volume editions can only be upgraded from 8 to 8.1 via an in-place install from ISO. Ugh. This is apparently because of the "KMS/MAK requirement," but it's funny that service pack upgrades for Vista and Win7 Enterprise editions never had a problem. This suggests to me that this Store upgrade process isn't as capable as the service pack system. I really don't like in-place upgrades at all, since they're time-consuming and sometimes problematic (plus, two giant directories with your old, pre-migrated profile are left behind for you to clean up). Lesson learned for this new regime: stop using volume editions when possible.
