    Thanks very much; any idea what ieflashupdateprep.exe, downloaded with KB3035034, is all about? It does not run from cmd promt or double click. googla' just gives me a bunch of BS to websites declaring it is not a virus......:rocket:

    prep - prepare

    I guess the best complete guess would be that it is an update handler for flash updates. Basically, it's not a user executable file, but a file that essentially operates like a dll file. I could be completely wrong though, it's naming out form could be as a result of a muff-up in programme design.

    @burfadel

    Thanks burf'; it does not seem to be needed for Flash Player installation. I used DISM to install the cab and all seems to be smooth.:confused:

    The exe file is not needed, it's actually dated 1 year ago

    Open the exe with hex editor; looks like its somehow relates to

    Could be a driver, very common if you enabled Microsoft Update

    That ties in with my update handler suggestion. They really should not be called or compiled as .exe files.

    update list is as provided by my 8.1 x64 installation, however KB3000483 never appeared in WU list
