On all my W8-1 WU now offers this necro stuff:

KB3008923 MS IE 11 Cumulative Security Update

This one is the oldest of all necro stuff so far offered:

    1. KB3185319 MS IE 11 Cumulative Security Update
    2. KB3021952 MS IE 11 Cumulative Security Update

Dunno, why this one KB3008923 has appeared now...?

This also appeared to me Win8.1-64 and I thought it was something I did!
I downloaded manually and it installed fine.
Nothing was offered after this IE CU was applied.

Extract them from NDP47-KB3186497-x86-x64-AllOS-TUR.exe yourself. There are no separate compressed ones.

It's no longer available through the Update Catalog. Is that what you mean by expired? Or do you see the expiration info elsewhere?

The KB page for 3173424 is still up and it's downloadable from there so it hasn't been pulled completely. It must be a mistake (unless they eventually pull the KB page also).

KB3173424 is missing in the Catalog, but available and not expired as part of the latest massive round of maintenance in WSUS.
For those not aware, Microsoft has expired few days ago (May 6, 2017) over 1300 updates for Windows 7/2008 and Windows 8.1/2012R2 all editions, 32-bit, 64-bit, Itanium.

I have a couple questions about ZDP updates and automatic post install updates. I'm trying to do an offline installation.

Windows installs ZDP updates during installation before reaching the desktop. Searching Microsoft Update Catalog for OOBE ZDP shows the latest ZDP updates for Win 10 and 8.1.

Edit: I also found the latest ZDP update KB3020370 in addobi1406's 8.1 Update list.

    1. Can these updates be integrated into install.wim before installation? Do the ZDP updates also need integration into the boot.wim?

Also, when doing a normal online Windows installation, AFTER Windows finishes booting up, there are a lot of update files being downloaded to c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution. Apparently, even though I set Windows to "Never Update" during OOBE, it is still doing an automatic update after Windows first installs. This update process takes a long time (maybe an hour) and prevents manual updates (Control Panel / Windows Update) from functioning until it is done. This post update process seems to be triggered by a scheduled task because if I disable Task Scheduler service, the POST FIRST INSTALL UPDATES process doesn't happen. These updates don't seem part of the OOBE ZDP updates because they are too large. I've also removed all the metro apps so these shouldn't be App Updates.

    2. What exactly are these POST FIRST INSTALL AUTOMATIC UPDATES that are done after Windows 8.1 first boots? How do I know what they are so I can integrate them into the ISO image or install them directly onto a completely offline system?

UPDATE: It turns out the installation DID have Metro Apps installed. So the "POST FIRST INSTALL UPDATES" were really just the metro apps being updated automatically. They were not KB updates.

Thanks abbodi1406 for helping me figure that mistake out.

    1. Sure, like any other updates
no, boo.wim don't need OOBE updates

    2. I just made vm install yesterday, no updates downloaded before or after login
OOBE don't have option for "Never check...", either automatic or postpone the setting later

    Please:
Is KB3139219 superseded and by which updates? Could it be KB3172614?
(I don't use anything after "KB3192404 Cumulative Security Preview", so only superseding updates until KB3192404 interest me in this case.)
