The new "refresh release" of .NET Framework 4.7.1 for Windows 8.1/Windows Server 2012 R2 contains two msu files - the old "base" KB4033369 and the reliability fix KB4054854 which must be coinstalled with the "base" throught WU. But if the system already have KB4033369 installed, the KB4054854 is not offered by WU. Moreover, this reliability fix (KB4054854) contains files with higher version then the latest "Security and Quality Rollup for the .NET Framework 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, and 4.7.1 (KB 4055001)", which is offered by WU as the part of KB4055266. The question is: what kind of grass are Microsoft employees smoking ? The good news: KB4053577 is superseded by the KB4056887 KB4054519 is superseded by the KB4056895 KB2973114, KB3122651 are superseded by the KB4054999 (the part of KB4055266) KB3022777, KB3045992, KB3092601, KB3092627, KB3126033, KB3153704, KB3169704 are superseded by the KB4056895

1 quick question, on W10 i know theres only 3 msu/cab to install or integrate to get os up to date but on w8.1 it is the same? or its a collage of several cabs/ms and if so is there a list of whats needed *Edit WHDownloader trows me like a thousand of things to download. for win8.1 running it from a w10 os if run it from win8 would it hide the superseded ones?
The above updates do not exist on your system. You are not on the list Is not that what I mean, or do you add that you forgot?
AMD CPU PC. 1) Installed kb4056895, reboot. Windows unbootable. Recovered from restore point. 2) Installed kb4073576, reboot. Success. 3) Installed kb4056895 and reboot. Success.
I was wondering if Intel users should also install the patch. I probably didn't make it clear with my previous statement...
After installing some updates for this month's Patch Tuesday online, I noticed the state of some of the patches were flagged as Staged. I've never seen this before and would be interested if someone could explain what this means. This looks like the patches were not installed correctly or not enabled. Code: Microsoft-Hyper-V-Integration-Services-Package-2~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.9600.18892 | Staged | Update | 1/14/2018 12:56 Package_for_KB4054854~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.1627 | Staged | Update | 1/13/2018 02:30
You installed them from WU? is sub-packages also listed? or just those? it's either failed or the parent packegs are disabled you could try to add them manually: Code: dism /online /add-package /packagename:Microsoft-Hyper-V-Integration-Services-Package-2~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.9600.18892 dism /online /add-package /packagename:Package_for_KB4054854~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.1627 btw, could you check C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log and get url for windows6.2-hypervintegrationservices-x64? thanks
Not with WU, but with DISM. ReAdding KB4054854 flipped the state to installed, but KB4057903 won't install on top of KB4036479 which is superseded and can't be uninstalled. I checked the mum file for the permanent flag, but there was none and still won't uninstall. The system keeps doing a rollback on that update. The new update was downloaded when I ran Komm's UpdateChecker
That update consist of drivers, and those were always tricky on uninstall/install check these logs to find the cause C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log C:\Windows\inf\ setupapi.dev.log
