That used to be the case in 8.0 and earlier, but in 8.1 we have a /resetbase option and superceded updates just go byebye. dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase or dism /image:c:\mountfolder /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase

Mr Jinje, I mean by standard ways, Office is not listed in Programs and Features, in fact this window is empty, unless one manually installs e.g. the vc++ arm redist, or some jailbroken apps. Of course one can always mess with registry and files, but the regular end-user usually cannot reclaim OfficeRT back if he breaks it. In such a case, a system reset is the only option, or a new install from the leaked Windows RT media.
I installed 8.1 Enterprise 32bit (wzor leak) with an autounattend.xml that goes straight into audit mode (as I do with w8 updateruns, to get an updated .wim), and let it search for updates. I have not tried this with 8.1 before, but as it's 18 October, I guess it should find the updates, right? But it just keeps looking for updates and loops for hours. Am I missing something here? (I also did the offline DISM RollupA thing, but as that still leaves some updates, the audit mode on the clean image seemed the way to go, but now I'm wondering what's going wrong...).
