Yes, I can verify this trying to update an offline install.wim taken from an MSDN Update1 ISO. I guess the same will apply to the other 7 fixes in the wim if they ever get superseded. I saw this in one of the KUC change logs from long ago, so I'm wondering why it even tries to remove those. 0.0.007.003 · Enhancement: KUC will not try to remove permanent updates. Is there another method to remove superseded fixes from a reset base? Code: Number of packages to remove : 2 ===================================================================== Removing package 1 to 2 of 2 packages 15:43:17.68 Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.3.9600.16384 Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031 Processing 1 of 2 - Package_for_KB2949621: Permanent package cannot be uninstalled. Because those updates are not permanently permanent, they can be removed when they get superseded Yes, do a reset base again
The old features that are in the sxs folder are outdated and a lot of the files get replaced in the 2919355 patch. To get around this you could just not use the /limitaccess option, But I suspect you'd rather try to figure out how to download all of the updated versions of these files... I'm not sure exactly if that's possible, but you could try cruising through the softwaredistribution folder after not using /limitaccess
Doesn't work, the one's KUC wants to remove remain in the "View Installed Updates" list and in the DISM packages list. I think it was Burf' who posted an involved manual way to remove the remenants of "permanent" superseeded updates quite a while ago, but, this results in M$ update showing them. I'm afraid if one wants to use the MSDN Windows 8.1 17031 ISO this will be one of the minor annoyances. @ Komm Also, the latest KUC still attempts to remove permanent superseeded updates thusly: Spoiler @echo off set dest=/image:"E:\offline" Echo Number of packages to remove : 2 Echo ===================================================================== Echo Removing package 1 to 2 of 2 packages %time% dism %dest% /norestart /remove-package /packagenameackage_for_KB2949621~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.2.0 /packagenameackage_for_KB2939471~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 /LogPath:"%~dp0DISM.log" /loglevel:2 Echo. echo Press any key to exit pause >nul My Image: Spoiler Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.3.9600.17031 Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031 Packages listing: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------- | --------------- | ------------------ Package Identity | State | Release Type | Install Time ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------- | --------------- | ------------------ Microsoft-Windows-CameraCodec-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.9600.16453 | Install Pending | Update | 4/10/2014 11:17 PM Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~en-US~6.3.9600.16384 | Installed | Language Pack | 3/18/2014 9:32 AM Microsoft-Windows-Foundation-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.9600.16384 | Installed | Foundation | 8/22/2013 2:46 PM Package_for_KB2894856~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.1 | Install Pending | Security Update | 4/10/2014 11:16 PM Package_for_KB2897066~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:23 PM Package_for_KB2914206~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.4.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:17 PM Package_for_KB2917011~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:23 PM Package_for_KB2919355~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.14 | Installed | Update | 3/18/2014 10:39 AM Package_for_KB2919442~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.8 | Installed | Update | 3/18/2014 9:58 AM Package_for_KB2925384~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.4.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:17 PM Package_for_KB2926991~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:17 PM Package_for_KB2929869~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.2.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:17 PM Package_for_KB2932046~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.5 | Installed | Feature Pack | 3/18/2014 10:39 AM Package_for_KB2933809~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.3 | Install Pending | Update | 4/10/2014 11:17 PM Package_for_KB2934018~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.5 | Install Pending | Feature Pack | 4/10/2014 11:18 PM Package_for_KB2935092~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.2 | Install Pending | Update | 4/10/2014 11:18 PM Package_for_KB2936111~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:18 PM Package_for_KB2937220~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Installed | Update | 3/18/2014 10:39 AM Package_for_KB2937295~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:18 PM Package_for_KB2937592~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Installed | Feature Pack | 3/18/2014 10:39 AM Package_for_KB2938439~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Installed | Feature Pack | 3/18/2014 10:39 AM Package_for_KB2938772~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Installed | Update | 3/18/2014 10:39 AM Package_for_KB2939471~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Installed | Update | 3/18/2014 10:39 AM Package_for_KB2941455~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:19 PM Package_for_KB2942844~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Update | 4/10/2014 11:19 PM Package_for_KB2949621~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.2.0 | Installed | Hotfix | 3/18/2014 10:39 AM Package_for_KB2950183~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Update | 4/10/2014 11:19 PM Package_for_KB2953799~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:19 PM Package_for_KB2954879~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.2 | Install Pending | Update | 4/10/2014 11:19 PM Package_for_KB2955769~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.3.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:19 PM Package_for_KB2956280~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:19 PM Package_for_KB2956283~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Update | 4/10/2014 11:19 PM Package_for_KB2957390~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Update | 4/10/2014 11:23 PM Package_for_KB999994~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.0 | Install Pending | Hotfix | 4/10/2014 11:16 PM The operation completed successfully. It works for me KB2939471 got removed when i installed KB2934018 then ran /resetbase KB2949621 didn't because it shares the same components version with KB2934018
/resetbase does not work on an offline image when there are pending operations. Error: 0x800f0806 KB2934018 in my wim is flagged as install pending. Looks like removing these particular fixes will only be valid for an online image. Anyway, I don't think KUC should be creating a remove for these since they won't work anyway if servicing the msdn update1 iso wim.

Shiver-me-timbers, 2939471 did get removed-you're right, I was looking at the wrong packages file-offline instead of online.
After running the latest KUC using an updated 8.1 MSDN ISO, I'm now being offered a mini version of KB2919355 (2.3 MB) and according to MS: I also ran KUC using the origunal 8.1 RTM version and get the same results, so it looks like the KB2919355 downloaded from Komm's repo is also incomplete. Does anyone have a link for the mini version of KB2919355 or can I only install this via WU?
Thank you cuteee - Just what I needed. After applying KB2559977, KB2919355 no longer offered by WU. I will integrate this into my MSDN 8.1 update wim as noted in the KB: @s1ave77 As I mentioned, the missing piece of KB2919355 is offered by WU, but I did not want to use WU to do the updating. I assume the download you pointed to is the revised version of KB2919355 that includes KB299977, yes?. I only needed the missing part.
Yep, when you click on Download it will show all KBs that are part of it to download separately . Afaik the updated ISOs are missing KB2934018 & KB2959977.
Yes, KUC picked up KB2934018, but missed KB2959977. Komm will probably add this in his next update. Thanks .....
This new rollup supersede the Security Update 2894856, well, at least on the components side only one manifest isn't superseded: netfx4-aspnetenforceviewstatemac which is actually represent a registry key: Code: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319] "AspNetEnforceViewStateMac"=dword:00000001 i uninstalled 2894856, then went to WU to check if it will show, but it didn't maybe that reg key isn't needed anymore with the new components in 2937674? can we consider it superseded? regarding the other hotfix rollup 2925384, unfortunately it's not superseded entirely ngen.exe and mscorsvw.exe are not updated/included in 2937674 MS
